For me, the people are what makes Amarillo special. That and a plethora of restaurants to choose from. I like that too!

I can't agree with you about the restaurants since good ethnic places are few and far between. Being able to get from almost anyplace in the city to anywhere else in fifteen minutes is what I like best.

I like that for the most part it is a great place to raise children....not too big...not too small.

I have to agree with the Time's on this one. Lack of traffic is huge for quality of life. Great place to raise kids. Weather is great most of the time (except for when it's dry and windy like lately).
Great Mexican food, but that's about it for restaurants. I always thought it was ironic that there wasn't a really good steakhouse or slow smoked bbq place up here.

I like the weather. It's close enough to the mountains for a quick trip and it's fairly inexpensive, with the exception of gas.

Best thing about Amarillo is that it is HOME. Happy to be here, but glad I left for a while and experienced something different. Love the climate, traffic, cost of living, people... as i tell friends in other cities, it's just an easy day-to-day life, unlike some other places. Proximity to mountains is a very huge plus. (going there on Sunday!) Also, it is the kind of city that you grow to love from the inside. it's not sexy to outsiders initially, but only for those willing to give it a chance.

I love Amarillo and the weather I plan to become something in the weather field someday and I couldn't have picked a better place to live & love the weather we see everything here. Another reason I like Amarillo is were not to big but at the same time we are growing!

I like that Amarillo is one of the few places left that the average working person can still make it. If you work hard here you can own a home, send your children to safe school and live a comfortable life. Fewer and fewer place like that left anymore.

I LOVE the sunrises and sunsets. Plus we can see the weather systems for Lubbock, Clovis, Perryton, and most of the west Oklahoma border from here. Oh, and the stars at night, wow, just can't get over the awe I have for the lightshow God gives me every night. Also the weather, the bad weather makes me appreciate the good, and we have good weather for the most part, love the wind, it comes from all directions, I love the rain when it happens, love the snow, and mostly love the people I meet here, when they're behind the wheel they're (including me) idiots, but in person you will never meet nicer people or more willing to help. Dang, I'm making myself cry.....................but I do love it here. When I leave for more than a week I get so homesick I literally get sick.

I moved away from Amarillo and I don't miss the crime and noise. There are many things I do miss though.
Most importantly if I hadn't grown up in Amarillo I never would have met my wife and we wouldn't have our three beautiful children. ;D

Two Words for WT, Bike Lanes! What bike lanes? I see some white stripes.... But I just keep driving on the right side of the street...where I have always driven. ;D Maybe our silly mayor lady likes to drive in the middle of the street... But I'm not dumb enough to drive in the middle of a 2-lane street.
