"This could go on and on, but I did not mean to get on my soapbox. I am just very passionate about this subject and can get wound up too easily."
Geez - this is just sad. You need to find a hobby or something important to be "passionate" about. It's HIGH SCHOOL athletics! They are kids playing games! Some people (and cities/towns) are just stupid when it comes to kids playing games.

Well gee Henry, I think that kind of attitude is pretty sad. What if all the people like “rickref” believed the way you do?
I used the term kids the same as you, but in reality, the kids we are talking about are young adults. The experiences that they have in high school are part of what will shape what kind of adults they will become. I do not want to see those experiences be unjustifiably bad because of some poor excuse of a coach/teacher and his/her own agenda. I believed that when I was teaching and still believe it today.
Whether they are playing games, marching in the band, choir, theater, math club, or whatever else they are into, I support the “kids” in any way that I can. I will do it the same be it your kid, or whoever is currently participating. I am not trying to pat myself on the back here, but as example just since I have been in Pampa, I have been to numerous band marching contests, have made the majority of the choir musicals since the current choir teacher has been putting them on. I make it to a couple of soccer games every year since Pampa started soccer back in the early 90s. I usually make 2-3 volleyball matches a year. I have yet to figure out the rules to those 2 games, but I still go. I make every football, basketball, baseball, and softball game that I can.
That is your future out there “playing games”. Maybe if more people got involved in supporting the “kids just playing games” or whatever else the kids are involved in, a lot of what goes on with the youth of today might change.

awww looks like we hurt poor Robbie's feelings banneddad. haha, get over it man, no one cares about all the time you spent "working" on your game. Because quite honestly you couldn't tell you did a dang thing. Everyone knows your dad is the only reason you made all-stars, and the only reason you played is because he kissed up to Wilson so much.
And you got me all wrong. I was one of the players you screwed over with your errors, I bash you because I want to win and with you thats impossible.

But I bet you won't do it, because you and banneddad are both cowards. but I want to ask a question to BD. I want to go back to the whole first basemen issue. Is that ok? K good. If you wanted the guy you mentioned before in the outfield....who do you want to play first then?

RD, my point was why do you take some of the best in the area that you have on your team and put them in positions that they may of never played before at any level? All you do is weaken the team in multiple positions. The only reason is if you have a hidden agenda - and that sacrifices the potential of your team.
That is basically what this whole thread is about - poor hiring decisions by the Pampa adminsitration and what my point was about - poor coaching decisions as a result of those poor hiring decisions. I just used baseball as one of my examples. Want to talk soccer as an example? I will be the first to point out that I really do not follow the game much and am not well versed enough with the game to point out bad coaching decisions, but why do you hire a person as your head soccer coach that is not that far out of college and never even played soccer at any level? There was not a problem with the kid you were so quick to defend earlier playing first, but when he pitches someone else has to play there. I do not mean anything bad towards the individual for trying to do what he was told, but it was obvious he did not belong there. Same as the kid catching, he improved a lot over the course of the year and is going to be very good, but he still did not get close to being able to play at the level of the player that you all ready had. Now, what happens when he is a senior and some new kid comes along and the coach goes off on another tangent? Not only did you waste this season, you waste another one down the road.
Poor decisions. Poor coaching.
