Would most likely have nothing at all to do with the AEDC...
Because...since the Bell Helicopter deal many years ago...
The AEDC hasn't brought anything new to Amarillo...but a few call centers...and a cheese factory for Dalhart.
Since he took over at the AEDC...Buzz David has done nothing big at all for Amarillo itself.
Since Bell Helicopter years ago...Amarillo has seen no new major business or industry come to town.
We may have fast appreciating home values...but it has nothing to do with the AEDC.
Most of the call center employees don't make enough money to do anything but rent.

Wow, Amarillo is the fastest appretiating home market in the country Did you even read the story? It doesn't say that about Amarillo. All it says is " Among the bright spots, prices of homes sold rose by more than 7 percent in Amarillo, Yakima, Wash., Binghamton, N.Y., and Charleston, W.Va." It's mostly about increasing home sales in other parts of the country. If you are going to post something would you mind reading it first?

The AEDC reminds me of the Jasper Improvement Society in "Road House".

I do read the story. I also read several other statistic that I do not refer to in this post and all show Amarillo housing was in top 1-3 for fast appretiation housing price. Let just say when Amarillo is in top 3 you know the rest of the nation have a big problem.
WT, I agree the AEDC has not been doing much latley, every time I read abut some Japanese auto company or other foreighn manufacturing firm set up in the U.S.A I saw where was the AEDC.

I'll post it again for people to see...
But these are the reasons for a LOT of the AEDC problems....Oh, and how can we be located where we are geographically and not have more work and growth? Self-limiting power hungry status-holders, not wanting anyone "bigger" than they are in town? www.amarillo.com/stories/032008/new_99092792.shtmlWeb-posted Thursday, March 20, 2008 City votes three to AEDC board City commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to send three newcomers to the Amarillo Economic Development Corp. board. The vote approved Kim Gaynor, Walter Price and Cliff Bickerstaff to serve staggered terms to be determined by AEDC. The departing directors are Paul Borchardt, who served since 2003; Rick Crawford, who began in 2005; and Bob Williams whose first term began in 2001. - Globe-News staff www.amarilloedc.com/Home › About Amarillo EDC Board of DirectorsSince 1989, the Amarillo EDC has been governed by a five-member board. Board members are appointed by the Amarillo City Commission and commit to serving three-year terms. The current Amarillo EDC Board of Directors are: Brad Martin Chairman Eddie Bradley Vice Chairman/Secretary << Auto dealership owner Cliff Bickerstaff Director << Ware family/Amarillo National Bank employeeWalter “Four” Price, IV Director Kim Gaynor Director Anyone have any information on the other AEDC board members? The one I question the most...is the ANB employee...since that is the largest family-owned business left in Amarillo. Oh, and how can we be located where we are geographically and not have more work and growth? Self-limiting power hungry status-holders, not wanting anyone "bigger" than they are in town? Of course it wouldn't be complete without the Amarillo Globe News publisher...Les Simpson... who covers for the AEDC and the leaders of Amarillo... and prints only what they want him to publish... and who will never question or investigate what the AEDC or leaders of Amarillo do. He controls the number one source of information in the entire Panhandle... what information you hear...and what information you don't hear. The AEDC and the Globe News are not being honest by keeping the business ties of the AEDC board members a secret and under cover.I wonder if the AEDC is violating any government information laws by not disclosing that information...

Between Amarillo and WTAMU in Canyon... Most of what I've seen in the last 15 to 20 years or so... Has been a think small...and stay small attitude.

Staying local. Just need more room so we can start our foster-to-adopt process.
