Are any of you guys going? We have chose not to go this year and let the kids go with friends...It is to expensive......I knew this when there was a 25.00 coupon for an arm bad to ride the rides in the newspaper.

No, we're not going, either, for the same reason. I love fair food, but since most of it would make me sick the next day, it's not worth it.
My husband went to see his son compete in a contest at the fair, and he had to pay $10 just to get in. That's all he did.
Not worth it anymore. It's a kids' thing, anyway.

Last time I went to the fair...it was just with a bunch from work...to eat lunch out there.
But growing up...my parents would take my little brother and I to the fair every year.
In those days...it always seemed like it was sunny and still pretty hot.

I'll probably go tomorrow before noon just for the funnel cake and curly fries and the oppurtunity to take some photos.

Let me make a suggestion if you do go eat. The Smoke House is great. It is the Caprock HS FFA. Each year we attend the stock show that is where we eat. Check out the Pecan Cobbler!!!!!!!!

Are you in town? Are you ready? ;D I was then I had to leave! Got in Thursday evening and left Saturday... saw my moms for a few minutes a couple of times.... then I had to come see what the storm did to the house... the yard was a mess...fence and shed damage....mucho tree damage everywhere... Ike blew high and not much ground wind. So hummingbird feeder was still hanging....airplane plant was still hanging on the fence...beside the HUGE crease in my top rail....just got internet service back today... ;D BUT I did go to the fair Friday night. I'll be back as soon as I get this mess cleaned up.... daughter kicked butt on it already. ;D She was doing circles around the men in neighboring yards... they even had chainsaws and all the tools.... pretty sad when they get shown up by a little girl in flip flops armed with a wheel barrow, rake, lighter fluid, paper towels and a lighter.
