I spent all of last week in El Paso for work. Flew to North Carolina to visit my son today...and my luggage didn't. Hope it catches up soon!

The last time my luggage and I became separated on a flight, it made the connection to the next city and I didn't. Had to spend the night before having to rent a car and travel to my final destination and my luggage was there, at the airport, waiting for me to pick it up.

Oh, sj, that's terrible. My luggage made it finally. They got it to me early this morning.

Only time an airline misplaced my luggage was when I came back from Dallas after a week in a software class and American sent my luggage to Houston. I was on the last flight that night into Amarillo, and they got it back to me late the next afternoon. It's less of a hassle if you are coming home.

That is so true. I wouldn't have had to buy anything if I had been coming home.

I have found if you have a delayed flight and miss your connecting flight, the flights are so overbooked today, it may be 48 hours before the airline will have a seat for you on the continuing flight. I had this happen in January. Not good for ones attitude.

I've been to Dallas on a few day trips from work in the past where we went to 1 day seminars where we took the earliest flight and flew back to Amarillo in the evening. We took no luggage, so it would have really sucked if we would have been stuck in Dallas overnight.

I have had that happen W-T. I got stuck in Tyler once and in Dallas once. At least hotels have shampoo, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes.

The fire alarm in our hotel went off about 12:30 this morning. Two firetrucks later, they found the smoke alarm that had gone off and gave us the all clear to go back to our rooms. Nothing like an exciting trip!

Phantom is so quiet that I bet she went to North Carolina to see her son, and she decided to move and stay there?
Could we really be that lucky? ;D

I wish. North Carolina has rain and trees. But alas, my son is headed for Iraq so it's back to windy Lubbock for me!

We used to vacation from Ind to Tenn. I miss the outlets, staying at the cabin retreats, choice of shows, etc. Whenever we go back to Ind I feel 'closed in' now think it's because of all the grass and the big, tall trees. LOL best thing U can say about Tx. is the skies are always blue the majority of the time anyway. Worse things are the winds and the flying dirt and trash blowing everywhere. Hope, we get some rain this week end

Glorious and sunny soil of Iraq... I thought US Military withdrew its troops from there, no? It's pretty Amorilloan weather in Ufa today. Here's dry streets and heat of sun. Though, it was a heavy rain yesterday that melted all the snow

There are a hundred or so military personnel remaining in Iraq. My son's duties are supposed to be to oversee the contractor's that are selling military equipment to the Iraqi army and training the Iraqi army. I don't know when if ever they will have all troops out.
