Went and saw "The Producers" at ALT Thursday night. It was HILARIOUS!!!!! If you haven't seen it, go. This was my first ALT play experience and it certainly won't be the last. We have an incredible amount of talent in this town and ALT is 1 of 2 national community theaters that actually has the right to perform "The Producers". But bring tissues because you will laugh until you have tears rolling down your face. My face and stomach still hurt the next day from laughing so much. There was awesome acting, singing, comedy and choreography. This is their big season finale and if you like the theater and/or early Mel Brooks I strongly recommend seeing it. You will not be disappointed (that is unless you are a humorless, elderly, devout "fire and brimstone" religious close-minded ultra right-wing conservative).
Like I said earlier, for Amarillo to be 1 of 2 community theaters that can do this play (it's still on Broadway with Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane), that says something about our local actors and theater. Go support them!
