I'm sure he is a nice guy. But he has no marketing degree. And he had no sports marketing or fund-raising experience before go this job. He is a retired public school teacher...but what qualified him to run the Buffalo Club? But we can look at the Bobcat Club at Texas State. And the Bobcat Club is being run by guys with sports marketing and fund-raising experience. I question the legitimacy of the Buffalo Club because they can't even raise $1 million a year. W-T if you think the Buffalo CLub is not raising enough money do you think that tight ass loud mouth alumni like you who do not contribute a dime to the BC are part of the problem.

The HUGE problem is that very few people in Amarillo even care about D2 sports.
And why should I contribute money that just goes to keep the SAME OLD STUFF of D2? ;D
Extra money will never show up until WT comes out and says they want to go to D1.
Why has WT never asked for extra money to do better than D2? ;D
If Beaumont can support D1 football started from scratch...why not Amarillo?

Beaumont does not support D1. Walter Umphrey does. Lamar stopped football back in 80's to stay in other sports. WT made the choice to keep football but go D2. It was Title IX that forced the hand of smaller universities around the country.
Lamar started football back because on one man. Walter!!!! not because of Beaumont. Umphrey is a bigtime liberal Union Trail Lawyer who made millions in the abestos lawsuits on the major oil and chemical companies in the Beaumont/Port Arhtur area ( Exxon, Mobil, DuPont, Beyer, Gulf, Texaco, ect...) He is a multi - millionaire and he alone ponied the money for Lamar to restart the football program.

And WT has NEVER asked those companies for money? ;D The Buffalo Club only does a half-assed attempt at fund-raising. And an old retired amateur guy with no marketing experience runs the Buffalo Club. ;D WT is only raising a fraction of the money that could be raised in Amarillo. Just imagine if WT talked to Valero Energy...which has a CEO with a degree from WT. ;D |
