What's the deal with that channel around here ? goes off and on then it interrupts the show and goes into about 10 commercials in a row. Would have to be the main station I watch. quality isn't worth a snot. Attachments:

I'm not sure I know what you mean about about the commercials.
But Ch.10 is the newscast I watch the most...followed by Ch.7.
And most of the TV shows I watch are on CBS.
Like Hawaii Five-O that is on in a few minutes.
All the Amarillo TV stations are guilty of showing too many infomercials to make money.
And in the old days, they would show movies and M*A*S*H reruns that were fun to watch.
I've also met 2 of the Ch.10 weather guys in person.

Everyday at 11:00 when the Young and the Restless is on. The picture will go black, it will go to commercials, which always of course are clear as day and they run and run them then when the show comes back on it's on for a few minutes, till, right before a big scene, picture goes black again and the station goes to mega commercials or as the kids say today 'uber' commercials showing the same previews of 'I married your mother' or whatever it's called now with 'doogie houser' about 3 times over and over again. Of course, you miss half the show. I got a brand new TV (one yr. old) so it's not on my end. commercials are peachy keen I just have to go online at nite and watch my love show. CBS , has always been flaky had the same trouble up in Ind.

Sounds like someone is over-riding it somewhere.
Are you getting TV from Suddenlink cable or Dish Network satellite or TV antenna?
If you're on Dish Network, you should be getting the direct CBS regional signal feed.
And CBS would probably not over-ride one of their own shows.
But the local cable or TV antenna signal could over-ride it for a paid commercial.

We got Direct Tv satellite. I watch it on local channel 10 though. I sent them a fax last nite asking what the deal was and enclosed my phone #. I bet if a man was watching 'the big game' and right when the fellow goes to dunk the ball and the crowd cheers then the picture goes off and the guy sitting at home misses all the action then it goes to commercials there would be hell to pay ! LOL They probably won't care that I'm p o'd about young and the restless and Dr. Phil. Attachments:

Dr. Phil ... good grief what an imposter. Two people that make me change the channel in a nano second- Dr. Phil and Dr. Laura - two of the most phony people in the universe.

Oprah basically made Dr. Phil what he is today.
When the Amarillo-Hereford cow nuts tried to sue Oprah.
Dr. Phil came to Amarillo with Oprah as one her advisers on what to say and do.
Then she helped set him up in his own TV show.
That entire episode was quite the surreal experience for Amarillo.
I would drive downtown at lunch just to go by the courthouse and look at all the network stuff.
We had satellite trucks here from all the major networks and even some LA and Chicago stations.

I really like Dr. Phil. He's well educated and cuts thru the crap to show you where your wrong. He respects women and is a defender of animals who can't defend themselves against idot mankind. Like these farmers down here who don't provide even a pole barn for their cattle, or trees in the summer. Then they whine about worrying about their pregnant cows, use some of that money your making off of them and at least provide a pole barn for them to get out of frigid cold and some trees in the summer to get out of the scorching 100` temps. If my livihood depended on animals I'd want to treat them well so they could survive till I took 'em to market. sheesh !

I have never watched more than a few minutes of his show.
But a lot of his show seems to be plain ol' common sense psychology applied to everyday life.
He went to college not very far from here in Wichita Falls and Denton.
And I heard him talk about him talk on Letterman about his college football days at Tulsa. ;D
From Wikipedia:
Phillip Calvin McGraw (born September 1, 1950), best known as Dr. Phil, is an American television personality, author, psychologist, and the host of the television show Dr. Phil, which debuted in 2002. McGraw first gained celebrity status with appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show in the late 1990s.[2] Early life
Phil McGraw was born in Vinita, Oklahoma, the son of Jerry (née Stevens) and Joe McGraw.[3] He grew up with two older sisters, Deana and Donna, and younger sister Brenda[4] in the oilfields of North Texas where his father was an equipment supplier. During McGraw's childhood, his family moved so his father could pursue a lifelong dream of becoming a psychologist. McGraw attended Shawnee Mission North High School in Overland Park, Kansas. In 1968, he was awarded a football scholarship to the University of Tulsa, where he played middle linebacker under Coach Glenn Dobbs. On November 23 of that year McGraw's team lost to the University of Houston 100–6, which is one of the most lopsided games in college football history.[5] Coach Dobbs retired after that season, and McGraw transferred to Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. Career
McGraw graduated in 1975 from Midwestern State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. He went on to earn a master's degree in experimental psychology in 1976, and a Ph.D in clinical psychology in 1979 at the University of North Texas,[6] where his dissertation was titled "Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Psychological Intervention".[7] After run-ins with several faculty members,[8] McGraw was guided through the doctoral program by Frank Lawlis, who later became the primary contributing psychologist for the Dr. Phil television show.[9]
After obtaining his Ph.D., McGraw joined his father, Dr. Joe McGraw, in Wichita Falls, Texas, where the elder McGraw had established his private psychology practice.

Dr Phill jumped into the niche created when Dr Joyce Brothers got too old for television. His pull yourself up by your own boot srtaps psychology sells well but it's often too simplistic.

If I had to put up with all these teenagers that he talks to everyday I'd retire. LOL When looking at these 'entitled' kids of today I thank the Lord I'm childless. If I even tried some of this crap when I was in my teens my Aunt (mother died at 28)would've smack me into next week. About as wild as I got was sneaking out back of the barn with a girlfriend and lit up some Winstons, puffed and thought I was a big poop. Went back into the house, green as a toad and sick. She said "so much for that, eh"? I groaned and slept it off. I grew up with drunks, so, no alcohol for me. Lot of boys tried their best, but, unlike these poor girls of today who have no respect for themselves and just want to go along with the crowd they never got past 2nd base. In my home I was told "if you bring home a bundle it's yours I'm not spending 2nd half of my life raising your kids". Nowdays you see girls with babies you can't quite figure out who they have been with. LOL There was no Charlie Sheens and Lindsey Lohans in my hometown. ROFLMAO Kids couldn't get their parents arrested for trying to make 'em mind, etc. If I'd ever done drugs and came home and hollered "leave me alone , I"m high and need money for more". I'd been high alright , to the moon as Jackie Gleason used to say. I was raised with no sense of entitlement, consequences of your actions and you best be finding another place to live and don't worry about calling the cops on me for being 'abusive' I've already called 'em.
