Amps, 15w amp to 150w amp is quite the jump, solid state? Modeling amp? Surely not tube, that would be freakin LOUD!!! I have a Peavey Classic 50 w4x10 and it is loud, but right after I got that I found a Peavey Heritage VTX 130watts 2x12 combo and the Scorpions are so loud it's rediculous! Yeah, gotta keep away from GC, it's easy to blow all my money, my wife's money, the kids' inheritance, and just go Karazy in thur!

Back when I first started playing (15 years old) my parents bought me an old Bruno Conquerer bass (hollowbody electric) and a Kasino 25w bass amp. Shortly after starting bass lessons I wanted to play guitar too so my dad got me a '58 Fender Musicmaster (5/8 scale) electric guitar. The amp was 25watts of pure power (woohoo) but the 15" speaker just screamed more so I started experimenting with getting some power through the amp. My mom had a cassette recorder that had a 'monitor' jack so you could hear what you were recording as it was being recorded, and I got to figuring out how to hook up my guitar to the mic input (back then not many adapters existed) so I patched a cable together, then went out from the monitor out to my amp. "BALLAAAAAMMMMMM" Dude, that thing was screaming LOUD!!!! Just the ticket. So now what, I couldn't tear the recorder apart, I had already ruined one of my dad's radios and my mom's old camera (for the lenses to burn things in the sun) and I spent time in the 'pen' for both those offenses. Anyway Radio Shack just came into being at Western Plaza and I was in paradise! Anyway they had kits for radios and what I wanted was an amplifier board that I could hook up whatever I wanted to it. Anyway I got it hooked into my amp using 9v battery which was recommended. Well, it screamed ALLL THE TIME as long as it was hooked into my guitar, it wasn't feedback, just too much juice going into my amp. So I figured the little amp was junk, then I started messing with voltages to power the small amp and came up with a quick fix of using a Dcell battery and it worked very nice, good overdrive, juicy sounds, BUT it had a noise gate effect since the board really required 9volts to run it like it was supposed to. So the noise gate effect caused the decay to just drop quickly at certain volumes. I had to really attack the strings to get sound but once it did it was very sweet. I finally gave up on that little experiment but wish I still had the board. I think 4.5volts would have worked excellent on the board but I'll never know now. Perhaps my daughter isn't using her Walkman anymore

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Git that is hilarious!!!!!
Tink we are finally making some progress with the upstairs neighbors..... when I went to a friends last night he cranked it up and had them stomping on the floor...LOL...waiting on her to say something...and I will agree for him to keep it down if she agrees her kids won't run across the floor at full force ALL evening, won't dribble the ball through their apt, crank up her stereo at 6 am, and quit throwing trash from her balcony to mine.... I won't mention the drunken sex and her falling out of bed at 4 in the morning RIGHT over my head...LMAO! Everyone is entitled to one of those every once in a while!
