This story breaks my heart. I know it is every parent's worst nightmare. Having kids about this age, it scares me to death to think about the dangers they face ... just because they don't always make wise choices or take seriously the dangers in front of them.
So sad.

I just read that and yes it is so sad and scary as our kids are growing up.. I wish we could just keep them on a leash and always know they are safe.. My heart goes out to the family for there loss..

I saw kids on bicycles hanging onto a car coming out of a parking lot onto a city street the other day.... I just cringed and wanted to scream at the ADULT driver.
I agree this is a tragedy.... and while this young man and all kids for that matter... made/make bad decisions... the adults on this planet are suppose to step in and stop them from making these bad decisions whenever possible... IMO... the death of this child riding on the running boards was totally preventable by the adults in the vehicle.

I agree, BayBay, and that's what scares me so much. I expect the adults my kids are around to use good judgment, but obviously, they don't always do that.

THE FREAKING RUNNING BOARDS!!! What absoulte disregard for the saftey of these kids. I hope the adults get some manslaughter charges brought on them. By its very definition this meets the criteria.

As well they should be. That is just crazy for an adult to let happen. Tragic and sad.

Criminally negligent homicide comes to my mind in this case...... but you DON'T want to get me started.

This something that should have never happened. That makes the tragedy even worse.

It is sad that this child died so suddenly. Young people live as though they are immortal but adults know better. The driver should have known better. My prayers are with his family and friends.
