Hello, I am hoping that I have found everyone from the old board. I am trying to locate the person who took pictures for me awhile back and posted them. These were pics of places on the North side of Amarillo that I used to go to when I was young. Shortly after these were posted, my hard drive crashed and I lost them all, THEN when I went to the site to re-save them, the site had been discontinued. I am hoping and praying that person sees this and would be kind enough to re-post the pics. It meant alot to me to have them and it broke my heart to lose them. Thanks for everything! ED

Gosh, how cool is the Internet? It's so neat that Ed could find help with a project like this, and from VeggieB who was nice enough to help...

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! For those of you who don't know, my mom passed away this past Christmas Eve. I grew up in Amarillo, and I have many wonderful memories of my neighborhood and places I used to go... My hard drive crashed right around the same time that the newspaper took down the forum, and I thought the pictures were lost forever. This time I will be smart and put them on a disc. I honestly was more upset about losing those pictures than anything else that I lost. It means so much to me to have them back. Thanks so much. You made my day! ED

Not a problem. Here is one more image. I used this in a Photo Contest. It's the old Ding How chinese restaurant sign.

Jazzman, aka Veggieboy, I sent your picture of Ding How to a woman that I visited with in San Francisco this fall. Her name is Shirley Fong. Her father was the owner of Ding How. She has a thriving cooking and touring busines in China Town. We booked the tour and she asked where we were from. When I said, Amarillo, she was oh so excited. She related that she was 3 when she left Amarillo but would like to have pictures of Ding How. I came home, and quickly forgot my pledge for pictures. Plus, I don't really know how to take and download and all that stuff. Anyway, I copied your photo today and forwarded it to you. I hope you made her day also. Isn't it wonderful how small the world really is.

forgot to mention the name of her tour. It is "Wok Wiz" It was a couple of hours tour of China town and was fascinating. We got to sample lots of items on our tour and then had lunch in a Chinese restaurant bringing all that we had learned together. Anyway, thanks for posting it again.

Thanks for the info! I don't peruse this board very much so I did miss this thread. I'm glad so many have liked this photo. I should have taken a photo of the front of the building. I would have but there were some homeless people hanging around who were looking at me as a potential mark for panhandling and I wasn't having the right kind of day to put up with that kind of crap. I might go back and take another shot next time I have my camera with me.
Thanks Cat for the heads up. You one cool Cat!
