FSS had its spring luncheon fundraiser today, and I really would have liked to have gone. The woman who was beaten and raped in Central Park back in the 80s was the speaker. I had read an interview on her not that long ago, and one of the things that I found interesting is why she was out jogging so late at night ... b/c of an eating disorder that emotionally forced her to get her run in, no matter what. I'd like to read her book.
Because I work at the prison, going to lunch time things is too hard to do ... too far away.

Nusser is now out of Amarillo. A rental truck was loaded yesterday and departed. Pity the next poor agency and town. Only took 2 years for this insanity to end.

I got a phone call from a friend yesterday to tell me about the moving truck ... so out of curiosity, I drove by. Sure enough.
It's amazing how so many thoughts and feelings can go through your mind in a matter of seconds ... but mostly I thought about the next poor lives she'd hurt. I also saw her and someone loading stuff. It's been 8 months since I worked there, and I still got nauseated. I mean literally. And after that, I felt sad again for all that was lost, all that was done to so many of us ...
But I got a certain amount of closure, too.

Nothing to be sorry about if you don't know about the situation. It's just been a story that's lasted for several months and has finally come to a close. Many people got sick of seeing it all the time. Apparently timetogorightnow was one of them. Anyway, no big deal ... welcome to the board.  |
