After two years of searching, I have yet to find a hairdresser in Amarillo that I'm comfortable with. My main gripe is how long it takes them to highlight my hair - minimum 3 hours. The longest it's ever taken anywhere else is 2 hours. My time is precious. I don't need them taking on other clients during MY appointment. Am I asking for too much? Any referrals?

I had to dump my hair lady a couple of years ago.
I could tolerate the ditziness...but she had just turned 50....and was divorced....and suddenly decided she looked better without glasses....but did not get contacts.
So....as you can guess...the haircuts went south in a hurry.
Even for a guy with a full head of hair....I wear it pretty short...so there is much less margin for error....than there is with a woman's hair.
Several months later....I heard that another of her guy customers had also dumped her about the same time I did.

Sorry, hoparillo. My experiences with highlighting are no better ... I think part of the reason it takes some so long is the chatter ... and it's especially difficult for hairdressers who talk with their hands, too!

Try Shana at Salon 2900. She colors and highlights mine and it is usually only a couple of hours.

Speaking as a stylist, we have to book other clients while chemical services are being processed. But the trick is to keep on your toes, and make sure our clients are properly timed and taken care of, and do not become OVERbooked.
