I hate the jerks who create hazards by running every red light I stop at in Amarillo....
But the way they drive here...those of us who stop for red lights...already run a risk of getting rear-ended...and I worry that it will just get worse with the cameras.

I don't see why there is such an uproar over them? I have been seriously injured by someone running a red light, and if this will have even a 15% drop in running them, I say it's worth it.

I have, too, Heeby. I'm for it. And if I screw up and run a red light, I'll gladly pay it because I would deserve it ... being thankful I did not kill someone.

Since the topic has been in the news so much lately, I thought maybe we'd see a decrease in red light runners. No such luck. I'm all for the cameras and like Cats, I'll gladly pay the fine.

I guess I am never around to see the red light runners but I am neutral on it. I have no issues either way.

Actually, I was vehemently opposed to red light cameras because of the big brother issue. Then I moved to Amarillo.

They will come, after all Lubbock got them. All they are for is to make the city more money. They don't stop red light running and yellow lights are shorter where they are located.
