If you have the time, would y'all answer these questions?
A Haircut?
An eyebrow/facial wax?
A color/highlight? Is the price of the cut included?
Perms? Is cur price of the cut included?
How much do you pay for a child (10 & under) haircut?
What turns you off about a hairstylist?
What do you look for in a hairstylist?
Do you think it's important to find one stylist and develop a relationship with them, so you might have better communication skills to get the best service possible?
Do you think cheaper is better?
Or are you willing to pay more for a stylist with many years of experience?
Any other ideas or comments on the subject would be appreciated.

I pay about $70 for a cut and highlight. The eyebrow wax is usually free...My hairstylist has been a friend for years...I was her model when she tested for her license. I wouldn't go anywhere else unless something happened to her.

A Haircut? $45
An eyebrow/facial wax? never had it done
A color/highlight? Is the price of the cut included? $110, yes (been awhile since I have had this done and it was in California)
Perms? Is price of the cut included? Can't remember how much I paid, around $40 dollars (I have shoulder length, baby fine hair)
How much do you pay for a child (10 & under) haircut? don't have kids
What turns you off about a hairstylist? I realize that the stylist doesn't know me, but please don't spend the entire time talking ONLY to the other stylist. It is a hard balance to find between talking tooo much and not talking at all to me.
What do you look for in a hairstylist? Of course, the impossible. I tried for a while to walk into various salons and have the stylist do ANYTHING they wanted (not anything crazy like pink hair) and they always gave me the exact same style as I had before.
Do you think it's important to find one stylist and develop a relationship with them, so you might have better communication skills to get the best service possible? YES! I am still looking for one.
Do you think cheaper is better? not always
Or are you willing to pay more for a stylist with many years of experience? I guess it depends. If their experience is only working on men's hairstyles (I am female) they may not be up on the latest trends for women. (Is that possible?)

A Haircut? too much
An eyebrow/facial wax? don't do it
A color/highlight? Is the price of the cut included? again, too much, and it is separate from the cut
Perms? Is cur price of the cut included? don't get perms
How much do you pay for a child (10 & under) haircut?
What turns you off about a hairstylist? talks too much, especially about others, or if it detracts from getting the job done (i.e., uses her hands)
What do you look for in a hairstylist? She/he just has to be good and do what you ask, not what THEY want. At the same time, they will be honest if they think a cut or color won't look good on you.
Do you think it's important to find one stylist and develop a relationship with them, so you might have better communication skills to get the best service possible? Absolutely
Do you think cheaper is better? Nope!
Or are you willing to pay more for a stylist with many years of experience? They just have to meet the above criteria and be good.
Any other ideas or comments on the subject would be appreciated.

OH, I forgot something very important. One of the reasons the newer, less experienced stylists might be preferable to some is that they have received the latest education. I have found that some of the more experienced ones have failed to continue their education.

I usually pay $18 for a man's haircut and I give my girl a tip of $2 or $3 usually. Sorry, I can't help with any info on the waxing or other services.
As far as price is concerned, it has never really been an issue with me. I would rather pay a few extra dollars and get a good haircut than pay for a cheap one and have it end up looking like crap. I have some pretty bad callicks and I need somebody that knows what they are doing with my hard to cut hair. Unfortunately, I have had a few bad ones over the years, so when I find somebody that actually knows how to cut my hair, I stick with her.

A Haircut? $20-$40
An eyebrow/facial wax? $10-$12
A color/highlight? Is the price of the cut included? $110-$160 (yes)
Perms? Is cur price of the cut included? n/a
How much do you pay for a child (10 & under) haircut? n/a
What turns you off about a hairstylist? Having an appointment with that stylist and them tending to other clients while chemicals set on my scalp for hours. My time and money are precious, so please don't waste it.
What do you look for in a hairstylist? See above, and someone who listens to what I've asked for and follows through.
Do you think it's important to find one stylist and develop a relationship with them, so you might have better communication skills to get the best service possible? I had this once and it was hair heaven.
Do you think cheaper is better? Not necessarily. Not always worse either.
Or are you willing to pay more for a stylist with many years of experience? Same as above.
Any other ideas or comments on the subject would be appreciated. I've lived here for two years now and have yet to find one person who can excel in the areas of cut, highlight and style - and do it in two hours. Here it ranges from 3 to 4 hours and quite honestly, I don't have the time. Because of this, I'm going to be brave within the next week or so and color my hair myself.

Thanks, Hoparillo. I understand what you mean about time issues. Unless the client's hair is very dark and difficult to lift, or extra long, I never take more that 2 hrs to do a cut and highlight.

$20 for the cut. $5.00 tip
She washes my hair before and rinses it after so I'm not covered in hair clippings the rest of the day. (actually, the sexy assistant does)

A Haircut? usually around $25... but have paid as high as $50
An eyebrow wax? $5 ...but I would pay the right person more if they wouldn't peel off all but a thin strip leaving me looking surprised. HELP!!
A color/highlight? N/A but probably should be... noticing more gray. When my hair was long/longer I was quoted $175...decided to keep my own color.
What turns you off about a hairstylist? Someone with no creativity... and a blah attitude... I'm not a hair professional... that is why I go to one...help me out with what will and won't work...and if I don't know feel free to jump in and make suggestions.
What do you look for in a hairstylist? Someone that is creative, has my hairs best interest in mind and who makes my appointment time about me.
Do you think it's important to find one stylist and develop a relationship with them, so you might have better communication skills to get the best service possible? Yes...absolutely
Do you think cheaper is better? Very seldom... but have had a few bad experiences with "cheap" hair stylists.
Or are you willing to pay more for a stylist with many years of experience? Yes I am... as long as they have kept up their education.
Any other ideas or comments on the subject would be appreciated.
I have worn my hair very long most of my adult life... I have only cut it off twice... there is only so much you can do with hair that long... well... I'm thinking about leaving it around shoulder length... but can't find a stylist who isn't in a big hurry and has time to help me decide the best cut....and explain all the new hair goop they have come out with since the last time I had to actually worry about styling it. I recently took it to shoulder length... but i keep ending up with the same look I had when it was long but only shorter... I want CHANGE... and it would be GREAT to have a stylist that could help with that... but finding one that has the time is another issue.
