I pay $10 for a haircut about every 4 or 5 weeks.
But...since I'm driving out of town to get mine cut...my cost is actually approaching that of some of the mid-range prices you women are quoting.
I was paying $15 in Amarillo...but was having trouble finding a good consistent woman to do it...and the lady I go to...is a longtime family friend...who says $10 is the going rate for guys in that small town.
I also get very well caught up on all the gossip and news in the town where I grew up...and my parents...and part of my dad's family still live.
My favorite hair person was cutting my hair in Lubbock...in the 1984-85 timeframe...and she is only 2 years older than I am...which would have put her at about 23 at the time.
I usually went to the salon...where she rented space...but the best deal I ever got...was where she cut my hair on a couple of Saturdays in the kitchen at her house...and both times she was wearing a bikini...after laying out in the sun...which I thought was pretty cool.
Too bad she was already married at the time.
She is the best friend of a girl I knew most of the time I was growing up...and about a year ago...I got to visit again with both of them in Lubbock.
