Note the last paragraph: "I am also aware of an undercurrent in town that calls for a boycott of Toot ’n Totum. I have always agreed that we can vote with our feet and with our wallets.
I think those who feel strongly about this should do so."

I buy gas at Walmart and Market St. United and Sam's...but also on rare occasions at a TNT for convenience...when I don't have the time to drive elsewhere.
I usually don't buy at Pak-A-Sak...because the locations are not convenient to me for where I'm going around town...and the Pak-A-Sak at 34th and Western is so close to the light...that it's usually hard to make a turn out of there...to get to the light...and hard to turn left into there...if I'm going west on 34th.
There is so little price difference...that cost is usually offset by having to drive somewhere else.
If the competition isn't really willing to compete with TNT...then they are just helping Mitchell...and that's exactly what Pak-A-Sak does.
Pak-A-Sak just rides Mitchell's shirttail...for a share of the high price profits.
In NASCAR terminology...Pak-A-Sak is just drafting behind TNT.

So maybe Pak-a-Sak needs to feel the bite, too ... boycott them, too?
I am like you, though, in that convenience is a huge factor. Time is short. Life is fast, and the cheaper places just aren't necessarily easily accessible.

Also...I buy fountain coke refills at TNT...
because the TNT's I go into...have nicer employees...than I've encountered at the Pak-A-Sak on Western.

I'm sure when Mitchell gets back from fishing in Alaska, he'll be very concerned about what the Indy said.

That is my perceived problem with Mitchell: He doesn't seem to care about what anyone else thinks, as long as his bank account is growing.

As long as they aren't price fixing, you can't blame a guy for charging what the market will bear.

I think it's more a matter of feeling like they are fighting a losing battle, as well as convenience and time.

I think it's more a matter of feeling like they are fighting a losing battle, as well as convenience and time. So they're willing to pay more for convenience, but they complain about it? George and Mitchell's sister go to church together. Could be interesting.

George and Mitchell's sister go to church together. Could be interesting. It's possible. Wouldn't we all rather complain than act? In this case, boycotting TnT gas (and even Pak a Sak) would be a major inconvenience. People would really have to believe in the cause and make plans to take those extra steps against buying at those places. TnT has a monopoly in Amarillo, no doubt. It's difficult to find anything more convenient when you want gas or snack or something. Debra will be amicable to George, because that's just the way she is. She and Mitchell may be siblings, but that doesn't mean they are anything alike. I kinda doubt she'll say anything at all to George about it. Hell, she might even give him a high five!

Greg bought Debra out of TNT probably 10 years ago. So do not include her in when you boycott TNT. She is truly a nice person who has worked very hard to represent this city.

I'm just saying it might be weird being around someone who flamed a member of your family so hard. I actually like Mitchell too when he sets his ego aside for a bit.
