The downtown renovation plan is not any smarter than that plan someone had for wanting to put a big horse racing track near Amarillo...when Remington Park just barely scrapes by in OKC...and the track failed in Houston. www.shrp.comSam Houston Race Park still going in Houston......as is the track in Grand Prairie and Retama in SA is going after failing once www.retamapark.com/The Barfield Building is why I registered on this site I have an idea to redevelop it.....and it would even be W-T friendly......I wonder if W-T would have the knowledge and connections......much less the get-go to help me with the idea Marked is still stupid ;D

BTW...Amarillo does not have the population base or tourist traffic to support any type of large track...because the racing can't be done year round... And a race track this far north couldn't keep good employees when they'd have to lay them off during the winter. Amarillo is not a tourist destination at all...and most of the I-40 and US 287 traffic has no reason to stop in Amarillo...except for gas and cokes and restrooms and a 1-night place to sleep.
