Heard a Murphy Oil radio commercial about 20 minutes ago...on Rock 108...
and it's custom-tailored for Amarillo...and talks about the monopoly convenience store chain.
Looks like Walmart and Murphy are directly targeting Mitchell and TNT.
Cool... ;D
I usually gas up at Market St and Sam's...but I still like seeing someone go after Mitchell...in his own market.

Walmart always goes to bat for the customer. I noticed a Murphy sign had gas at just 3 cents a gallon higher than at Sams, which I thought was unusual because Sam's has consistently ran about 5 cents a gallon lower than Walmart.
Walmart has at least 8 supercenters and a massive distribution center within 50 miles of Amarillo. It has been a productive market. I've heard some hearsay that the store on Coulter was one of the highest performing locations in their system, and that is what led to them opening another location on Georgia.
Amarillo has been good to them and they are going to bat for Amarillans now, so good for them. No matter what you hear from the Walmart bashers, they really do have the best interests of the consumer at heart.
