The infamous green 2523 Britain bar building...has now been repainted an adobe color...so I'm wondering if someone is going to reopen the place.
It's been empty for many years...and painted bright fluorescent green.
Could be reused as a bar...or the building would make a nice restaurant.
As you're going east on 26th...toward Georgia...this building is on the left...and behind Market St. United.
In the eighties and early 90's this was one of the big bars in town...and I spent lots of time in there with the WTSU CIS bunch I ran with...both during college...and after we all graduated and moved to Amarillo.
From another topic thread...I think Rick also knows something about this building.

Haven't heard a peep about him in a few years, but I do know that when it was The Zone, the A/C was terrible in the summer. My "wife at the time"'s best friend worked there and the conditions were horrible at the main floor. I remember when it used to be the Blue Iguana, Cadillac Ranch, etc. Wow! That was a long time ago.........

Does it hurt less if you get stabbed in their parking lot now?

Actually I have only been there once. 2 girlfriends of mine coersed me to go with them one night. Not sure it was the ranch or what. Well that part of evening was not the memorable one.

that place will always be "The Ranch" in my mind. Home of $.05 beers, underage drinking and plenty of drunk a-holes starting crap. man, those were the good old days!

That place has been numerous things over the years, from Pizzazz to Cadillac Ranch to Blue Iguana and so on. It always attracts the losers and the dregs of humanity, much like the Graham's did before their demise at the hands of the demolition crew. The same thing goes for any bar owned by Chad Harmon. Anybody else remember Coaches? That place was nothing but a bunch of drug addicts and other various low lifes all assembled for nickel beers and fist fights.

So how many times a week did you frequent these places?
