Amazing how many idiots don't understand how the heating and cooling system in a commercial building is completely different from how it works in a house.
Your home system works in either cooling or heating...but NOT at the same time.
But in a commercial building...when you set the thermostat on a temperature...it either heats or cools to keep the temperature at what you set.
In a home during the winter...you can make your heater not come on...by setting the thermostat lower.
But...in a commercial building in the winter...if you turn the thermostat way down low...the system automatically kicks into cooling mode...to get the temperature down to what you set the thermostat at.
I just came back from a Toot-N-Totum...and it was freezing cold with the air conditioner running...because their stupid manager woman...though she'd save money...and turned the thermostat way down to 50 something...so it's now running the air conditioner to get the building down to 50 something degrees.
The employees told me that the office room where the thermostat is...is locked so they can't get to the thermostat...so the employees and the customer are freezing their asses off in that store.
You'd think TNT would tell their managers how the heating and conditioning works in a commercial building.
This is the 2nd time lately that I've noticed a TNT store manager doing something stupid...so either their training program has gone bad...or they are no longer paying enough to get new managers with a brain.
By turning a commercial building thermostat down that cold...the manager has kicked the air conditioning on...to get the temperature down that cold.
In the summer if you turn the thermostat up higher...it will run the heating to get the temperature up that high in a commercial building.
That young woman I've seen wearing a name tag saying manager in that store...needs to have butt kicked into the next state.
I've worked in an office once where we had a rookie maintenance guy who turned our thermostat down in the winter...and almost froze us with the air conditioner in November...and we had to call his supervisor and complain.
