Wonder what the "real" reason was they gave the sailers back? Did they make a secret agreement with Britain?

I hope not. They should have been dealt with a long time ago, back when Carter was President. Then we might not be were we are today in the Middle East.

I must agree whole heartedly with Writer on this one. Can't state it any plainer than that!

Rena, Iran returned the British servicemen (servicepersons sounds like a euphamism for sleeperhouse workers --- on second thought that may be appropriate for British military personnel) were returned because Iran had already totally and completely proved it's point: Iran can do anything it wants to, without consequence. Iran will acquire nuclear weapons with minimal interferance, and will eventually nuke another country, and irregardless of when or where that happens, George Bush will be blamed.
Hezbolla spokeswoman Nancy Pelosi indicated today that she may go to Iran to congratulate the Iranians on their latest display of omnipotence and thank them personally for freeing the British criminals unbeheaded, Iran's blatant violations of the Geneva Convention notwithstanding.
Writer is right, though he missed the point that Carter hates Jews as much as anyone, and although the Carter-supported Shaw of Iran disliked Israel, the Ayatolla promised death to Israel and therefore Carter dared not stand up to the Ayatolla.

With the disputed position of the craft when it was picked up by the Iranians, if you consider that there were 14 men and one woman taken prisoner it does'nt take a genius to work out who was doing the map reading....
