Housing has been extended for them until 2009!!!!
It is freaking ridiculous.... doesn't our government realize that these people that are still not able to "make it"... weren't making it BEFORE Katrina?
? GEEZ!!!!! It has been 20 months!!!!!! By the August deadline they HAD it would have been 24 months!!!!! And that was the second freaking deadline!!! The first deadline was 18 months which I thought was absolutely fair...
There are people that make VERY little and work their @sses off every single day and can't get housing assistance!!
So they are giving these people almost 4 YEARS... what about the people wiped out from recent tornadoes up here in the panhandle is FEMA going to give them close to four years worth of assistance??

NO if you are a home owner and have insurance you are sh!t out of luck with FEMA...been there done that with Rita... and the insurance companies are NOT paying claims like they are suppose too...we got screwed on that too!
They can't get the Katrina "victims" to go to work in Houston...they even set up job fairs with transportation to and from and the "victims" would not go!!!!!!!!!! Houston mayor held a press conference telling them that the people of Houston WORK...and if they weren't going to be productive citizens then they needed to leave...
AND FEMA is allowing and paying for ridiculous rent costs in New Orleans.... they are condoning the price gouging going on there...

I feel sorry for the true victims... parts Mississippi were demolished... and they were the step-children of the Katrina disaster.... FEMA did them wrong too!
New Orleans is in the shape they are in due to YEARS of mismanagement and the HORRIBLE decisions that were made by New Orleans and La. powers that be...DURING the hurricane.
Now we all pay for it in many different ways!
