We noticed that last week. The message on the door says "closed for remodeling" but I don't think so. It looks a little more deserted than a remodeling job.

...!
It better not be closed again, 'cause they just re-opened a few years ago after closing.

What do you expect from a business...that paints a huge sign on their building that says....Texas Steak....ummmmmmmmmmm! Wonder if they sucked any morons in off I-40....with that very lame marketing enticement? I guess there are some goobers...and foreign tourists...who MIGHT bite on that.

I haven't been there in years. We used to go quite a bit about 20 years ago (before the buffet). My aunt and uncle would go every Friday night when he got paid. That was their night out for the week. And if any of us were around, we got to go too. The food maybe wasn't great then, although it seemed fine to me at the time. Getting a meal out was still a treat back then. But I have good memories of going there with that part of my family, most of whom are deceased now.

Hopefully some other company will do something with that building. Seems like buildings in that area seem to sit. (Speeds, El Chico, the chinese restaurant- can't even remember the name) What is up with that little section of businesses?

It's kind of squirrelly to get there from the more obvious exits. That's just my observation. I don't know that for a fact.

Anyone know if the Western Sizzlin' is still open in Lubbock?
Both the Amarillo and Lubbock restaurants were good years ago...but it's been probably 6 or 7 years...since I've been in the Amarillo one...and at least 10 years at the Lubbock one.

We liked it. We were regulars there. Looks like for sale signs are up...
Pepito's is going in where El Chico used to be.
