has really good cheddar biscuits. And it doesn't hurt when the waiter pays more attention to me than he does to my three lunch mates.

My friend emailed me and asked if I wanted to meet there for lunch. Otherwise I probably would have ended up at Bryan's, a steak house with another friend. But, the biscuits and shrimp scampi were good.

Red Lobster sucks. Support the local places that actually turn out some decent food like Scott's Oyster Bar or Fat Cat if you're in the mood for some fried seafood goodness.

Unfortunately, I'm in Lubbock. We don't have those places.

Lobster in Lubbock is still on the north side of 50th...down toward Slide...right?
Girl I dated for about a year in the mid-80's...her parents live over on 48th.

Last time I was in Lubbock it was. That part of 50th seems to be moving elsewhere.

It hasn't moved. W-T, what self respecting Lubbock parents would have let you date their daughter?

There are some apartments just a bit east of there...off 50th.
In 1985...it was about dusk one night...and I saw a car/motorcycle wreck.
Old lady ran a stop sign...and the guy on the motorcycle...hit her in the right front fender...going at least 30-35 mph...and wasn't hurt...and just got thrown onto the grass in front of the apartments.

Whew! That wasn't me. I wasn't old in 1985.

People who've know me...since I was 5 years old...and used to live next door to us...before they moved to Lubbock. Her mother kept my little brother and I...after school...and during the summer...while our parents were running their business. We would go see them down and see them several times a year...and went on several vacations together...and when I was in HS...their daughters and I were going to Tech football games.

Ok, Ok...I was just kidding...although, if they moved to Lubbock, they weren't really Lubbockites. Hmmmm

Against my better judgment, I went to Red Lobster last night. Let's just say I am paying the price today for my foolishness last night. I obviously got some bad shellfish because my insides are all twisted up in knots and it is not a pleasant feeling. It is my own fault and I should know better. Red Lobster blows and Joe's Crap Shack is not any better. To get good sea food, you really have to be close to the coast. Regardless, stay away from the RL at all costs. The cheddar biscuits are not worth what I'm experiencing right now.

Is "Scuttlebutts" still open on Slide Road?
