What do you plan on eating for Thanksgiving? I'm eating at a buffet so chances are, I'll eat everything! My favorite Thanksgiving dishes are cranberry sauce (from a can), pumpkin pie and deviled eggs.

I bet village bakery is a good option for those choosing not to cook.
We are making a lasagna from scratch... homemade noodles - neopolitan style. butternut squash soup for an appetizer, some good bread and salad. pecan and buttermilk pies for dessert. LOTS of wine. watch the cowboys w/ one eye open and a loose belt!

I took a nice tom earlier this month with a 4" beard, so we will be eating him, along with cranberry sauce, dressing, mashed potatoes from scratch, sweet potatoes, rolls, gravy, and ambrosia. I hope the turkey is not too tough, as it is always a gamble with the wild ones. Still, I would rather eat that than take a store bought bird. Those things they sell in the supermarkets are not even turkeys- they are frankengobblers. They were created in some geneticists lab and they have been shot full of hormones. Those things can't even fly. The purpose is for them to grow large as quickly as possible so they can be placed upon a dinner table with the least amount of cost. Unfortunately, they sacrifice a lot of the taste when they do that, though. I'll take a tough bird any day over one with no taste.

Looks like I get to have turkey too! Been out to sea for a while and was wondering if we were going to get into port in time to receive my order for Thanksgiving. Now all I have to do is get everything thawed, cooked and ready.

Wish I was home, still at work on the ship. Home before Christmas though.
