Am I the only one who eats these? I don't particularly like the flavor, but I crave them at times just the same. Maybe cuz my Dad ate them all the time. Anyway, omega-3's and all that, there are worse things for you.
If you like them, please share how: on crackers?, on salad?, etc. I eat mine on crackers with horseradish sauce and a lemon squeeze.
Or, feel free to tell me I'm distusting. My wife pretty much won't be in the same room when I eat them.

I haven't tried them in a long time, but you just made me very hungry for oysters on the half shell at Scott's. horseradish / lemon & a little hotsauce. ummmm. it's the poor man's sashimi!

Growing up we had them all the time. I haven't had any in years. The preferred method was between two slices of bread.

Definitely with crackers for me. I get a hankering for anchovies sometimes too. I learned to eat them while waiting tables at an italian restaurant in Lubbock while going to Tech. Never on pizzas though.

Never on pizzas though. We used to get the Milto's Special with jalapenos and anchovies and a pitcher of beer in Austin. You'd wake up at 5:00 a.m. and think you were going to die of thirst.

There was a couple who came into the Italian restaurant where I worked every Sunday evening. They'd always order a large half-cheese and half-anchovie pizza. They were one of the only ones who ever ordered anchovies on their pizza. No one wanted to wait on them though, because they were lousy tippers. Usually we just used the anchovies to top the salads.

I crave anchovies too. My faves are Bellino's brand in the little glass jar. They have a nice rosey color, which makes them look appealing, and a good non-mushy texture. Again, my wife thinks I'm disgusting.

I'm definitely down w/ anchovies on pizza, chopped up as part of a pasta sauce or just a squeeze of paste in whatever needs a little something. But, there's not a place in town that I would order an anchovie pizza. I'll save that for a NYC trip and get a couple of slices to satisfy that craving. After that, I'll go back to good 'ole pepperoni!

I have a hard time not ordering the Big Wheel at Basil Doc's... especially being on a diet, my pizza eating opportunities are few / far between so I have to make the most of it. I haven't tried Caroline's pizza, just some of their pasta dishes. But, I understand they are related to the old Brother's Pizza which was my favorite carry out here in town. I'll give it a try next time I have the chance.
