Do not get mad it is not the guy in the store. As select stores in town it is buy someone in a cube in a far away land! Yeap they still screw it up just as well as the paid guy here.

It's been a while since I saw the actual article, but some McDonald's are taking orders through a call center somewhere else. So instead of talking to a person inside the McD you are at, you are talking to someone in...California maybe, and they are relaying the order back to your McD by computer.
Goofy, huh?

My big pet peeve is not having my order repeated back to me...or put up on the screen...
So I know they got it right.
I don't eat my burgers with everything on them...so I get pretty harsh with bozos...if my order is wrong because they didn't repeat it back for confirmation.
I can't believe all the people working fast-food windows...who have never heard of getting confirmation to make sure they heard the order right.
I tend to get pissed when all I hear back from the person is a price...and I see nothing on the screen.

Also...if you do takeout or drive-thru at the KFC off 34th & Bell... Double-check your order before you leave... Because they can take your order right...and even repeat it to you for confirmation... And their bozos in the kitchen can still mess it up. I really wish we had another KFC on the west side of town.

Only in rare cases will I order anything more than drinks at a drive through. One of my pet peeves is someone sitting at a drive through window waiting long periods for their multi-item order to be filled. Go dam inside for food orders and don't hold up the parade.

Thats it. A call center is taking orders at select stores here. I hate it. Wendy's at I-40 and Western...I've seen it where it looks like everyone in the place might be wearing a wireless headset to take orders wherever they might be in the place. Through the first drive-up window at that one...you can see into the back room where they have boxes stored...and the guys putting up boxes...are wearing headsets...just like the people at the windows taking money and giving out your order.

I can't even understand the people sometimes when they repeat orders back. ENUNCIATE and SLOW DOWN people. Sheesh. Outsourcing drive throughs. Stinking ridiclulous. ..........

I don't know if the last few times I've been there, it was one that uses the call center. But I have noticed those few times they didn't try to push extra stuff onto my order. "Would you like to upsize that?" "Would you like to add 3 cookies for a dollar?" "You want fries with that?"
If the extra sales pitch is a casualty of the call center, they can ALL go to call centers and the sooner the better.

Accept it. The brightest and best are not working at McD's. I tried to order one fried pie and the poor girl said, "They two for a dollar. I don't know how much one would be." I ended up buying two because she was having a melt down at the thought of only one being ordered.

I went in there with my plastic Toot-N-Totum cup for a fountain diet coke refill. He rang up 75 cents...and took my dollar bill...and then gave me back 3 quarters. I walked out the door...paused a second...and then went back in... And told him he only charged me 25 cents for my 44oz coke...and gave him back 2 quarters. He was pissed at me...because I think he realized he looked like a dunce to the other customers.

The people at the drive-up for the Wendy's at I-40 & Western...are really friendly...and I've got 3 or 4 of them trained to know exactly how I want my grilled chicken sandwich. And I will sometimes go the Wendy's at 34th & Coulter...but the people there are not friendly...and really not bright enough to even remember regular customers. Also...a big reason I don't care for the Coulter Wendy's that much... Is that one of the guys working the Coulter drive-up... Looks almost like a young John F. Kerry...the guy who ran against Bush for president. Same long facial structure and hair...and even the same false and condescending grin. YUCK! I live essentially about half-way between these 2 Wendy's places.

reminds me of the Jim Gaffigan stand-up bit: "Did I go to Wendy's TWICE yesterday?"
