We are Marshall- Very moving story about the Marshall University football team. Based on the story of the plane crash that killed most of the university football team on their way home from a game. I cried and cried.
Deathproof- It was one of the movies that was part of the double feature of "Grindhouse". Directed by Tarrintino. He purposely had it edited to look like the old 70's movies. The film "pops" and scenes will jump around a bit. In true Tarrintino fashion.. makes you kind of scratch your head a bit after the movie is over.
Still to watch this week Dark Ride
Penny Dreadful
these were marketed as the "8 films to die for". I have seen the other 6 already.

I've heard that, but I hesitate to get something that is gonna make me bawl my eyes out.
I watched "Freedom Writers" yesterday. Now THAT was a good movie.

Yes I did. Very good. Reminded me a lot of other movies that it seems as if the story (however good) has been told.
Michelle Pfeiffer-- Dangerous Minds Lean on Me-- with Morgan Freeman Stand and Deliver- with Lou Diamond Phillips and Edward James Olmos
Although all of the movies were very inspiring, sometimes it seems as if Hollywood can only recycle plots/stories/themes.

Yeah, but what I like about those is that they are based on true stories, which is inspirational to me. If it was something Hollywood was just "making up," I'd probably feel a little differently.

I didn't say that I didn't like them, I cried at them all. The do inspire me to be a better person.
All I was saying is that it seems as if Hollywood likes to have similar movies with similar messages every X number of years.

Penny Dreadful- Penny and her parents were in a car wreck when Penny was young, unfortunately her parents didn't survive. Penny is now a college student that is terrified of cars and her therapist thinks that if they take a roadtrip, it will help with her recovery. Very creepy!
Dark Ride- 20 years ago 16 people who rode the carnival ride called Dark Ride were killed. The murderer was put into a mental institution and the ride was closed. The ride is now scheduled to re-open. A group of college kids on their way to spend spring break partying, decide to take a sneak peek of the ride. Very creepy with a twist!!
