We rented American Gangster and Michael Clayton. Today we saw The Spiderwick Chronicles.
American Gangster- starring Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, Cuba Gooding Jr and many other great actors. Frank Lucas (Washington) learned from Buggy how to conduct business and himself. When Buggy dies, Lucas is unsure how to take over Buggy's place in Harlem. Lucas realizes that Buggy taught him all the lessons he needs, he just needs to apply himself. He begins by cutting out the middle man and goes into business for himself. With great drive, Lucas makes a name for himself. Too bad that product he is providing is drugs. Great performances by the entire cas. We were confused a bit in the beginning, but ended up really enjoying the movie.
Michael Clayton- Michael Clayton is the "go to guy" that cleans up other people's messes and problems. When he is assigned to take care of a fellow lawyer's mental health and the problems that he has created, he has no idea of what he has gotten himself into. I really liked the movie, hubby didn't enjoy it that much. He thought that the movie was over-hyped.
Spiderwick- WOW! What a great original story! We haven't read the books, so we didn't really no anything beyond the previews. Jared's mom relocates him, his twin brother and older sister into a huge family house and Jared isn't thrilled with his new home. Jared is known as the family trouble maker and when strange things begin to happen in their new surroundings, he is the one that the family blames.
