8/26/07 Lubbock places third in Little League World Series
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – In his final appearance at the Little League World Series, Garrett Williams pitched like he has throughout the tournament.
The left-hander hurled a no-hitter and Western scored its lone run without the benefit of a hit in a 1-0 victory over Curacao in the Consolation Game.
Williams struck out 14, including the first seven batters of the game.
Williams received a standing ovation from most of the crowd when he was replaced by Taylor Bridges.
Western scored the lone run in the fifth as Curacao pitcher Vincent Anthonia lost control. Anthonia walked four in the inning and uncorked two wild pitches, one that scored Western’s lone run. web page

It was the pitcher who got hurt. The catcher lost the pitch and the pitcher ran to home to tag the runner out. The catcher tossed it to the pitcher and the runner was tagged out, but the pitcher got his ankle rolled up in the slide the runner was in. Zane Ancel was the pitcher. Y'all are right. I wasn't thinking ... is his ankle for sure broken? That was a mangled looking leg in the footage.

The Lubbock coaches left a lot to be desired! What classless fools they are. I am almost glad they lost because of those two.

What did they do? I guess I never saw anything or hear of what happened?

Don't punish the kids, who did a great job, because the coach opened his mouth when he shouldn't have.

They presented all of the kids that participated at Texas Tech's football home opener. Very neat!
