High School Football Forecast Week Two
Amarillo High - Pampa…One of the longest rivalries in the Panhandle. I have watched these two play in a blinding snow storm and not one fan left either stand. The Sand Blows…too much for the Harvesters…AHS cuts another notch in the win column.
Odessa - Tascosa…The Bronchos…Broncos…Bronchoes…however you spell it, they have a little too much for the Rebels. Wish I could have picked Tascosa….maybe next time.
Palo Duro - Clovis…The Dons Do It in New Mexico. The Palo Duro Dons will bring a little more to the field than the Clovis Wildcat this year. A Mountain Time Zone win for the Dons.
Plainview - Randall…The Bulldogs are trying to find the bullets to reload. Randall is loaded. Bang!....Randall wins.
Dumas - Borger…The Ding Dong Demons from Dumas will ring Borger's bell.
River Road - Dalhart….Dalhart Wolves take a bite out of River Road's not ready for prime time players. Each team will remain an 0fer….Dalhart 3-0 - River Road 0-3.
Canyon - Seminole…Eagles nip the Indians. That's it.
Lubbock Roosevelt - Perryton…Rangers send Roosevelt on the long road home with an L and it doesn't stand for Lubbock.
Gruver - Panhandle…It's Panhandle's Homecoming and the alumni will be proud. Will the Panthers allow a point…heck, will they allow any positive rushing yardage?
Floydada - Stratford…I feel sorry for Floydada. Stratford has a couple of things to work out of their system. One, last year's loss to Floydada and two, last week's loss to Childress. Stratford doesn't lose at home the rest of the season. Elks for the W.
Sunray - West Texas…Circle the Comanches, here come the Bobcats…Sunray will be on the warpath after last week's loss to hurt their state ranking. Bobcats rebound with a solid victory over West Texas Comanches.
Shallowater - Muleshoe….In past years, this would be one of the marquee games. This year the Mules are a load. Shallowater is …well, a little shallow. Mules win big.
Idalou - Littlefield…This game IS marquee. Two tough, talented teams that should make the play-offs but may not get to see each other there. This will be like a play-off game to them to establish bragging rights if nothing else. Flip the coin on this one. I'll go with the home team….Littlefield.
Childress - Iowa Park…Iowa Park is the pick on this one. Childress needs to catch its breath.
White Deer - Clarendon…Played in Clarendon where a north-south runner doesn’t' do well since it is an east-west field. The Bucks beat the Bronco….Bronchoes…Bronchos…heck, I dunno…White Deer wins…Clarendon loses…
