So these are either just theories or possibilities I don't know yet but, I have heard a few things on whats going to happen in this upcoming re-alignment for U.I.L
First off Canyon cannot escape this time and is apparently reserved a section in 4-A... I hear no complaints there. So pleae we don't need to hear about how they have a cagillion kids in their school because apparently the situation is handled.
Bushland and River Road are supposedlly teetering on the edge of 2-A and 3-A. Assuming they both are moved up I'm almost certain they would enter 5-3A.
Stratford is rumored to be below the cut off for 2-A so they might be going back down to their very comfortable throne in 1-A.
Alot of people are calling for something to be done with 3-A and apparently the U.I.L is going to do something, just what they are not sure.
Some beleive Texas needs a 6 or 7A.
I've heard the most likely event is that 3-A is going to be split. You know how playoffs work with the big shcool/small school bids? Well apparentl for JUST football thats going to be made a permanent regular season thing. Bigger 3-A's will be moved into districts together and smaller 3-A's will be mashed together too.
For example: 5-3A (Canyon, Borger, Perryton, and Dalhart)
Canyon is gone so no worries there.
Borger would be placed into "Big School 3-A" while Perryton and Dalhart will be put into "Small School 3-A"
Since U.I.L promised no more four team districts this also means that a few disctric boundaries will be changed, once again only for FOOTBALL. From what I gather the entire panhandle will practically be one district consisting of Big and Small schools. Not that they will be together but that it will be "Panhandle District Big School 3-A" and "Panhandle District Small School 3-A". Those are not the name just examples.
They will also decrease the playoffs slots from 3 to 2. Consisting of a District Champ and an "At Large" bid.
All the rest of highschool football will remain unscathed I guess.
Once again this is all just speculation and rumors so take none as fact and feel free to correct where its needed.
