AGN 2A Golden Spread Super Team selection did not include the Canadian QB that passed the Wildcats to the state championship. I was shocked he was not included. First, let me say ever young man named to that team deserved it and I would not want to have any of them removed to make room for Coleman Bentley of Canadian. However, I was able to watch several of the games and Bentley made the plays Canadian needed to win games. You can put together a mountain of stats but unless you make the plays at the right time you don't win. Coleman Bentley is a winner. He proved that game after game. To not be included on the Super Team is very sad and reflects badly on the AGN.

To not be included on the Super Team is very sad and reflects badly on the AGN. I agree that's bad for the Canandian quarterback. The Globe News has a real knack for reflecting badly on itself...and especially the AGN sports dept. I used to have some respect for the AGN sports coverage...back when Jon Mark was running that show. He refused to be a shill for the wrong crowd of WT people...and printed the truth about some things...and mysteriously got reassigned out of the sports dept. I also used to have some respect for Lance Lahnert...but no more. Lance is just a sell-out for the wrong crowd of WT people. Lance and his AGN sports cronies now just print what the WT small stadium bunch tell him to print. The smaller WT stadium bunch is also the same sadly misguided crew who think it's more important to get local names on the WT roster...than have winning seasons. Of course that same bunch appear to be part of the crowd actively working behind the scenes...to try to keep the WTAMU student enrollment from increasing. Yep...Lance and the AGN have fallen in with the WRONG WT crowd. We've had 2 recent bullsh!t articles printed by the AGN in support of that bunch.

gripey are you aware that not only will Strafford be class A next year, Canadian could be as well?

Yep, that could be pretty interesting and also how they would realign the districts. I'm sure Stratford and us would be in the same one but who knows. That's really OK with me. I miss those Bobcat/ Elk showdowns. Those were some great games! I THINK if my old feeble brain recalls this right but I think we were 5-5 out of the last 10 games.
Now, if Canadian comes down, I think they will put them in the eastern district. Wow, the reigning 2A champ moving down with most of their players back.....ouch.

I think you are right about Canadian being in the eastern district with Wellington, Wheeler, Clarendon, Memphis, Claude and where does White Deer go. But who knows what the UIL will do.
I can see the Panhandle having some state contenders in 1A next year with the possibility of winning both large and small school.
The 1-2A district that had Stratford, WT High and Canadian in it will be re-structured drastically if Canadian goes down. That will be interesting to see. You have Spearman, Fritch and Panhandle left in that district. Do they pickup Highland Park, River Road and/or Bushland. I think those six would make a nice district. Not too distant travel and for the most part competitive. Naw, the UIL would never do that.... ;D
