Let the Buffalo Run....I have an idea I'd like to run past you....on something you've discussed...so can you please come over here? Please setup a yahoo or hotmail email account to sign up with on the board. I now notice that some WT people conveniently provoked someone enough....that the topic with your comments on why WTAMU doesn't market the football program has been deleted.....interesting. Some WT people don't want that discussed....and so they buried Let the Buffalo Run's comments under a lot of garbage....until the topic was deleted....uh huh. I have to agree with you....that they don't market the WT football program because they are afraid more people might actually start coming to WT games....and that might spread to the other WT sports.
Yep....like you said....the cat's out of the bag.Just think....if more people started showing up for WT games....that might also spread some into.....a school enrollment increase. Hmmmm.....a larger WTAMU enrollment.....what some people are also afraid of.

The fact that the poster who made the dirty comments....that got that thread deleted.... appears to have had nothing done to her....and is still posting.... makes it appear that the entire thing may have been planned...just to have an excuse to delete the thread.... that had comments about WT's athletic marketing strategy....or lack of....that some in the WT camp....don't want to be publicy seen.

If you are talking about that AMW, she should be banned for life. If you get banned for the things you say, she should be gone forever. Not that I always agree with you, but you dont use language as she does.

That entire little episode was orchestrated to get rid of Let the Buffalo Run's comments on WT's lackluster athletic marketing....or lack of marketing.Other controversial topics disappeared at the same time. BTW....have you noticed that WTAMU has still made no advertising effort of their own....to get the word out that the Buffs have a big game tomorrow night....on a very odd night for a college football game? Based on WT's NON-EFFORT to get the word out about the game tomorrow night....I bet we only get a half-azzed crowd of about 9-10K.....with the east stands almost empty. Very sad for the players and coaches....because WT made no effort to let the general public in Amarillo know about the game on a Thursday night.Also....it must be part of some strategy....or lack of marketing strategy....to have no mention at all on www.gobuffsgo.com about the Don Carthel Show. Don't you know the sponsors of that show just love WT for not even helping promote its own coach's TV show. You'd think WTAMU would pull out all the stops to try to get BIG crowds of paying fans....because lots of paying fans....mean more money to fund scholarships and improvements....and even increase salaries of the athletic employees. Is WT really afraid of BIG football crowds....or do we have people afraid that big football crowds are great marketing for WT....and might actually help the WTAMU student enrollment grow?

Re: Projected attendance for the WT game
Not to sound like west-texan, but your post represents precisely what bothers me the most about WT's marketing, or lack thereof. It's almost like they're happy where they're at attendance-wise because it's so much better than what it used to be. My point is it could be even better! Why do they do such as p*ss poor job of marketing the games? I don't live in Amarillo anymore, but I talked to my 21-yr-old son today and he said he hadn't heard anything about it, and he listens to the WT radio station all the time! Good grief, if it isn't even being advertised on the campus radio station, then it is apparent that there's a problem here.
