Does Zach have any real playing value left?
I doubt it...or he'd still be with the Dolphins.
This is just another of many attempts by Jerry Jones...to get a big name that will appeal to the teenage boys...and 20-something kids.
Will Jerry ever quit wasting money on high-mileage user car players?
Jones sucks...and has turned in a horrible owner for the Cowboys for the following reasons...
1. Dallas hasn't been to a Super Bowl in like a million years...and I'd even have to search for the last time...because it's been so d**n long ago.
2. Way too many Cowboys players in legal trouble with the law...since Jones took over.
3. Burned through way too many coaches...most of whom produced very few wins.
4. Keeps wasting salary cap money on high-mileage used car players like Thomas and TO and even going back to Herschel Walker.
5. Again...Jones hasn't produced a Super Bowl team in umpteen years...and he turned the Cowboys into a chokers team.
Jerry needs to sell the Cowboys to someone with a brain...who will sit back and let a professional general manager run the team.
Let's look at the BIG writing all over the wall...and realize that Jerry needs to be gone from the Cowboys.

1. Dallas hasn't been to a Super Bowl in like a million years...and I'd even have to search for the last time...because it's been so d**n long ago.
*They went to the SB in 1993, 1994, and 1996, all of them were wins. So, it has been roughly 12 years since they have gone. That's longer than I would like, but there are plenty of other teams that haven't been during that period, either.
2. Way too many Cowboys players in legal trouble with the law...since Jones took over.
* Most of the legal problems were in the 1990's. They haven't had any more legal problems than average over the last few years. There are a lot of thugs in the NFL and the league has had a lot of problems in general. Supposedly, this new commissioner Goodell is a pretty no-nonsense guy, though.
3. Burned through way too many coaches...most of whom produced very few wins.
* Can't argue with that one.
4. Keeps wasting salary cap money on high-mileage used car players like Thomas and TO and even going back to Herschel Walker.
* They got a bargain for Zach. He has a 1 season contract with a $1 million signing bonus, a $1 Million regular season salary, and another $1 million if he meets certain criteria over the season. That seems like a pretty good deal for a 7-time pro bowl linebacker, especially considering the salary cap has gone up to $116 million this year. Also, I think part of his salary counts against Miami's cap. Now, does Zach still have any gas left in the tank? I think so, as long as he can stay healthy. I think his injury-riddled season last season and his age probably had more to do with Miami's decision to cut him than a diminishing value in his ability to play. They had a lot of people who said Junior Seau, Michael Strahan, Teddy Bruschi, and Brett Favre were done prior to last season, but they all seemed to have pretty good seasons last year. I think he probably has 2 to 3 years left, but this could be his last year as well. He already has more career tackles than any linebacker currently in the HOF. I think TO has been well worth the gamble and he produced for them last year. Herschel Walker should have been the MVP for the decade of the 90's. Without that trade deal, they never would have been able to load up on all of the players that carried them to 3 Super Bowl victories.
5. Again...Jones hasn't produced a Super Bowl team in umpteen years...and he turned the Cowboys into a chokers team.
* Uhh, no he didn't turn the Cowboys into a choker team. What he did do, though, was take a team that went 3-13 the year before he bought them and turned them into the best team in the NFL in 4 short years. They are on the verge of having that happen again. There are a few pieces of the puzzle that still need to come together and they have to get more reliable play from Romo at the QB spot. The running game looks good, the line should be tough this year, and we have good receivers. I'm really excited about the defense this year and it should be a hard-hitting bunch with guys like Ware, Spears, Thomas, and Williams in the mix. I would like to see a little more talent at the CB spot, but we'll see what happens with Pacman Jones. The Cowboys are right on the cusp of turning the corner.

I think Zach's a nice guy...but I would rather have seen him retire as a Miami Dolphin.
* I really like to see great players go out on top...with the team where they spent the most time.
Anything Zach does for the Cowboys...will likely be less than what he did at Miami...and will be just a footnote at the bottom of the page...compared to his playing career with the Dolphins.
I'm old enough I can remember when Roger Staubach retired...and he went out on top with his original team...the Cowboys.
One of the Amarillo TV stations showed the press conference live...which made it really cool when Roger retired.

Emmitt Smith played the last couple of years at Arizona before his retirement. In my mind, it doesn't diminish what he did during his career. In this era of free agency, a lot of players move around frequently. Shaq is on his 4th team right now and nobody can argue that guy is HOF material.
I think Zach wants a shot at a SB ring, and he realizes Dallas has a good shot at making a run for it within the next 2 years. I can't say that I blame the guy. I'm sure that if Dallas is able to make it to the SB, he would probably retire after the end of the season. Right now, Dallas is considered the 3rd most likely team to win the SB next year behind New England and Indy, at 5-1. NE is 8-5, and the Colts are 4-1. Last SB winners, the Giants, are 10-1.

First of all, it's Zach not Zeke, dumbass. And regardless about the Cowboy's defensive line, Thomas has to buck up and actually play a game without whining about his so-called migraines and earn his pay. If you can't play without a headache, then quit and let someone waiting in the wings do his job. I'm sorry, but I'm a Red Raider fan and Cowboy fan and if you can't do your d**n job then STFU and let those under you play in your place and get the job done.

I heard on Sportscenter the Dolphins are shopping his brother-in-law Jason Taylor around to various teams for another 1st round draft pick. It sounds to me like Parcells is dismantling their whole defense and rebuilding it around youth.
As far as the migraines and last season's injury are concerned, that wasn't Zach's fault. The team doctors wouldn't clear him to play, against his wishes. Now, his concussions do become a concern at this stage of the game, but I still feel like the Cowboys got a bargain on the guy.
