This is a TV game....and huge one against a BIG opponent...in South Dakota's last year in D2...before moving up to D1AA. Will WTAMU's AD Mike McBroom and WTAMU actually do some marketing and advertising and promotion to let the Amarillo public know about this game...which is on a Thursday night?OR will McBroom blow it like he did last season...and not get the word out...resulting in another tiny west-side only crowd? The WTAMU players and coaches deserve to have large stadium-filling crowds for every home game...yet WTAMU AD Mike McBroom refused to market or promote the WT football program in 2006. In 2006...WT even quit putting game schedule posters...and schedule cards...in all the Toot-N-Totums...even angering some TNT employees...who are WTAMU students and football fans. This big game against USD is on national TV....and since it is on a Thursday night... it deserves to advertised on radio and TV to get a BIG crowd. But...what does anyone think the odds are....that WTAMU will do the right thing by getting the word out to the Amarillo public...to try and get a large crowd? We can't just depend on winning...when we have had only have 2 winning seasons in many years. And nothing so far has been done to advertise or promote this game to the public.

There are un-documented rumors that WTAMU wants to build a new on-campus sport complex...and rumors are going around about wanting to build a smaller football stadium. It appears that the lack of football marketing in 2006...may have been an attempt to keep the WT football crowds smaller...to somehow justify building a smaller football stadium...which is dishonest and also completely unfair to the WT Buff players and coaches...who deserve to play in front of large crowds at every home game. Also...it seems that the WT AD and some others...who claim to be WTAMU "supporters" such as the infamous ras619 character...may actually be turned on by looking at thousands of empty seats on the east side of Kimbrough.

What TV network is broadcasting the game?
The Buffs might get it handed to them in this game.

Think this game is supposed to be on CSTV...which is why it's on a Thursday night. The last Thursday night game was a TV game. But of course....WTAMU has NO information on this game yet on www.gobuffsgo.com and still has not got the media guide out there....which would give us information. Still...the big question mark is....will WTAMU let the public know there is a game on a Thursday night....or will they keep it under wraps....like they did the Thursday night game last season. A CSTV broadcast means the game will NOT be advertised on one of the real networks....so that won't get the word out about the game. If WTAMU does not advertise...it will be a small crowd like the Thursday night game last season. Then again....the WT athletic director and ras169 do not want a big crowd at the game.

I can't find where CSTV is broadcasting it. Of the four D2 games they have listed, Texas A&M-Commerce vs. Pittsburg State is the only game involving an LSC school.
Where did you see that the WTAM game is broadcast? I couldn' even find a webcast stream listing. Am I looking in the right place?

They had a news release about it...months ago on www.gobuffsgo.com but they have no news archives for 2007....so we can't go back and look at it. Still no real information...but after I spend a couple of days talking on the the D2 football board about how they pulled the schedule cards out of all the Toot-N-Totums in Amarillo...this suddenly appeared on the website...in the last couple of hours... gobuffsgo.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/082107aaa.htmlThe lack of information and advertising and promotion for a Thursday night WT game....when people least expect it....make it seem like they do not want a big crowd at that game. For the Thursday TV game last season....WTAMU made no effort on their own to tell anyone about the game. Still waiting on the media guide to show up....but not holding my breath.

I'd LOVE to drive up, but I live in the Houston area and my sons play high school football.
We were back up in Canyon last spring and it really made me want to come up for a game.

I found this in the canyon news today:
CSTV has selected the WTAMU vs. Adams State game on September 8 and the WTAMU vs. Midwestern State game on October 6 as Games of the Week to be broadcast live via CSTV.com. The broadcasts are free to all fans with access to CSTV.com.
