Good thing I caught a quick screenshot...because that post and topic has now been deleted.

Notice the post times now jump from 4:07 to 4:59 PM yesterday.

Well, what is the answer? Is there any interest in a message board devoted to WTAMU sports?

The activity on this board seems to say no. But there are plenty of Buff fans on the D2 site.

Well...it's like this...

There are some good honest people associated with WT...

And then you have some characters like ras619.

ras619 and his crowd like that board over there...because the public doesn't know about it.

ras619 and his bunch do not like public boards like this...because the general public see and read what is on this board.

I dealt with this ras619 character...and his BuffBacker buddy for several years on the old TalkAmarillo board...that was run and shut down by the Globe News.

That little group of people hate those folks like me...who talk about WT problems and issues...and what needs to change or be improved at WT.

ras619 and his bunch are more interested about covering up WT problems and issues...than they are in getting things fixed and improved.

That bunch is largely responsible for some WT problems and issues that have persisted since the early 1970's.

ras619 and his bunch do not want the WT enrollment to go up...and they are a large part of the reason that WT is still no larger than it was in the early 1970's.

You have 2 types of WT people...

1. Those WT people like myself...who want the school to grow and move forward...and want public discussion of how to improve WT.

2. Those WT people who do not want WT to grow...and will do anything to stop progress...and try to stop public discussion of WT.

ras619 and his little crew are part of the misguided bunch working against WT...to try to downsize the football program into a small stadium...which would forever lock WT into D2.

They like the D2 board...because almost no one in Amarillo knows about it...that's why they like it...and hate public boards like this.

You'll notice a big trend with ras619 and BuffBacker...and that is they will NEVER say that they support a larger WT...with more students.

I just got through the other day having a long talk with an Amarillo College professor...and this person was talking about WT not growing....and was telling me about the Good Old Boy network operating at WT...and ras619 and his crew are part of that.

Without my even bringing it up...the AC professor was reiterating the same concerns I have about WT...and who is trying to hold the school back.

There used to be some real discussions about WT issues over there on the D2 board.

But...when some others brought up that WT hasn't done as well under the A&M System as Commerce and Tarleton have...

And when I started discussing that over there...I was banned on the D2 board.

Also...when I started discussing things over here...that were said over there...that little bunch pretty much clammed up.

They won't say anything much now over there about WT...because they don't want me to post it over here...where the general public in Amarillo can read it.

I didn't go to WT and therefore don't know alot about the politics involved. But I do find reading the posts interesting, even though I don't respond.

We've got a 20,000 seat stadium...and we've proven we can cram just under 24,000 people into it.

And then you've got that little bunch who want to move to a smaller stadium.

That is just plain stupid...and is nothing but a desire to stop the athletic program from growing.

A couple of years ago...that bunch got their little 40 year old puppet boy picked as the new AD.

And they've now got control of what the Globe News sports guys print...so they can now make sure that the public only gets their message across.

And with the "silent fund-raising" they are trying to sneak a smaller stadium past all the WT alumni and the Amarillo public...who they know will NOT approve of going to a smaller football stadium.

This pretty much sums how the AGN sports department operates.

Okay, but what about my question: Is there enough interest in WT athletics for a message board of its own? A message board is a good gauge of fan support.

Personally, I like Kimbrough and believe money for a new stadium could better spent elsewhere.

As for WT going IAA and IA, I don't know. I think the Buffs could be successful at IAA but trying to compete at the IA level would require a lot more money than what I see flowing into the athletic department these days, particularly if WT is going to recruit in places like Pennsylvania and California like Kerbel did.

Not sure if there is enough interest for a WT only board...

but if WT were to go back up to at least the D1AA level...where we really belong...I bet there would be more than enough interest...and there would be lots of new people...and not just the stuffy and old ras619 group.

The ras619 and BuffBacker group...who appear to have paid some money to get me banned on the D2 board...would only want to be involved if they have control over what is said on the board.

Those characters literally threw snit fits for years...on the old TalkAmarillo board the Globe News ran...because they could not control what was said about WT.

They refuse to participate on this board...because they cannot control what is said about WT.

They tried for several years to have the Globe News shut down the old TalkAmarillo board.

The old fart WT people in the Amarillo/Canyon area hate message boards...and only participate on the D2 board...because very few local people know about it.

* The key to a WT message board...would have to be complete independence from WTAMU...to avoid censorship...and to recruit new and younger alumni to participate.

* The WTAMU portion of this board has a lot of potential...because the wrong crowd of WT people don't control it...and can't censor this board...like happened on the D2 board.

You are very right...

and any available money could be spent elsewhere at WT...or be spent to endow the athletic department.

As for recruiting...Carthel is already recruiting at about the same level that Kerbel did.

* WT has no trouble winning at football...as long as they stay away from local recruiting.

* The players brought in from somewhere else...are the guys winning the games for WT right now.

Every time WT tries to go local with recruiting...they lose bigtime in football.

And every time WT brings in the players from elsewhere...they win.

I was attending WTSU in the D1AA days...and Carthel is recruiting better than what was being done in the 1982-1984.

The local recruiting is what killed WT in the D1AA days...and largely caused the move to D2.

Winning means getting players from elsewhere...and get the transfer guys who want more playing time.

Yep...and he knows he had it had it coming...and why it happened.

Yep...I sat back and watched him do nothing for 2 or 3 years about her postings...

And when she crossed the line and started making nasty personal attacks about someone who is one of the nicest guys around...I blew up and kicked him a bit.

You don't spend 2 or 3 years cultivating a huge double standard like he did...without eventually hearing about it.

I've already posted pictures of my posts on the D2 board in another topic thread...

And my posts over there are nothing more than factual discussions of WTAMU and LSC issues...

And if anyone likes...I can post all her personal attacks from the last 2 or 3 months.

He evidently doesn't like it very much when the shoe is on the other foot.
