That's what the signs say on the old All The Fixin's place @ 34th & Coulter...across from Nacho's.
Looks like they've already replaced the doors with new etched glass ones.

I would never put anything in that jinxed and doomed to fail location...

I wish them luck, but I'll admit my first thought when I saw the sign was "Do they know that nothing ever lasts in that place?"

My thought on this is...
That I think All The Fixin's was a venture of the 2nd owners of Cattle Call...right?
And were they not also the 2nd owners of Santa Fe...in the location where Nacho's is now?
What I'm getting at...is that if it's those owners...then they have a checkered history with Amarillo restaurants.
But...if it's entirely different owners...then it might stand a chance.
The thing with a location that far off I-40 is...that you are completely dependent on local customers...and you darn sure better not piss off the locals.
The original owners of Cattle Call and original owners of Santa Fe had good things going...until they sold out to this new bunch that I think started All The Fixin's...and ran both Cattle Call and Santa Fe down.
Let's all hope it's completely different owners...that have nothing to do with the current Cattle Call or Cadillac Joe's.

I drove by there Friday night after a visit to Jason's Deli. The place was packed. I'll wait until the newness wears off before checking it out.

I went here today for lunch, and it was suprisingly good. I had the 'fire'house burger, and my wife had a small supreme pizza. The burger had sauteed onions and flash-fried leeks along with spicy ranch and grilled japs. It was cooked medium as ordered, and was pretty decadent. The pizza was thin and had a good flavor, with decent quality sausage and mushrooms that weren't flavorless. Service was great, and I dig the decor and billions of flatscreens.
I always wonder why so many places that pop up brand themselves "Texas" style, instead of some place opening and trying to do, I don't know, New England Chowder or something for a change. My wife reminded me how Texas Roadhouse and Logan's are always packed to the gills. She has a point.
This place is trying to class-it-up a little with the aforementioned leeks, and capers and such. (They have capers on one of their 6 cheese steaks, I think its a greek one.)

That sounds pretty good. Maybe I'll have to try it next time I'm in town...in a couple of days.

I actually liked All the Fixins. Weren't they in that building longer than anything that came after?

My vote for fave restaurant that was in that spot: Shakey's Pizza. Man I miss that place. Of course I haven't had it in 25 years or so, but I feel I can still taste a pepperoni pizza from there if I imagine hard enough.
They had the "by weight" buffet. My mom would always, always caution me against getting jello, because she thought it weighed too much. I hated jello, so I don't know what she was so worried about.

Shakeys was teh best ever. I still remember going there. But I thought Shakeys was on Bell orginally around where Wal Greens is.

The pizza place I know of...that was on Bell....close to where Walgreen's is now...
Was the 2nd Pizza Planet that was in the building where that scraps and quilts place is....just north of Hobby Lobby.
I remember eating in there...back in the mid-80's...
And if you look at the building...it is identical in construction to the Pizza Planet on Paramount.
If Shakey's was on Bell...it might have been in the old Buns Over Texas building...that was torn down to make way for Walgreens.
The 2 Shakey's locations I know of...
Were on the north I-40 access road...between Western and Paramount...and south of 45th and Western...on the east side of Western...in the building that is now Beer Wine and Spirits.
Also...I think the Pizza Inn restaurants in Lubbock from the mid-70's to early-80's...were related to Shakey's in Amarillo...and the buildings were almost identical.

That's the building I'm talking about on 50th in Lubbock...and I think it turned into a Pizza Inn.
If I remember correctly...it was on the south side of 5th...right?
