hubby and I ate there today for a late lunch. He got a monte cristo and I got a burger. He didn't like the monte cristo, said that Benigan's was way better and that Cheddar's version was too greasy. My burger (mushroom and swiss) was just a burger.
the potato skins were good.
Maybe our hopes were too high. We used to always go to Cheddar's when we were dating in highschool. (Heck, Cheddar's was practically my home away from home.. when I was younger and Six Flags was my babysitter!)
We will give it another try.

I had the monte cristo and thought it was fine.
On the other hand, I hadn't had one in several years, so maybe I was just caught up in the moment...

OMG, w-t, you've never had one? Wow! It is a ham, turkey and swiss cheese sandwhich that is battered and deep fried, then powdered sugar is sprinkled on top. Cheddar's serves a raspberry dipping sauce on the side. It is decadent and delicious.

I went back with the wife today at 1:00 to miss the lunch rush. It was still very busy, but despite that, we had the best service that I've had in a long, long time. Our waiter would have a fresh diet coke in front of me each time I was at the halfway mark of the prior one, and I drink alot of coke. The monte cristo was great, and huge. I plan on each of the three leftover quarters to be breakfast for the next 3 days.

My favorite leftover for breakfast is pizza out of the box left on the counter or table. ;D

My favorite leftover for breakfast is pizza out of the box left on the counter or table. ;D Heck yeah! That's how they did it in Venice when I was there: cured meat sandwiches and pizzas just sitting in the shop's unrefridgerated window sill. Cheese, cured meats, bread-- just like peanut butter in the pantry.
