I know that everyone doesn't/didn't enjoy his comedy, but he sure cracked me up a lot! I got to see him perform once when I lived in California.
One of America's most popular and often controversial comedians, George Carlin, died in Santa Monica, California. He was 71.

Sad...and I was very surprised...even though I never really got into his act.
As for guys who left us early and very suddenly...I really miss guys like John Ritter and Tim Russert and Robert Palmer.
Sunday mornings just won't be the same without Tim.

I saw him live a couple of times. His concerts are very raw, but I felt he used it effectively to craft an act that was brilliant satire, and based on a message of unvarnished truth. The foul language to me was a mirror image of the stupidity he lampooned. He didn't spare anyone, no sacred cows, he even "Gored" the sacred ox of (man made) global warming.

Carlin was a genius. He hated the Bush presidents, bofem'. His satire was the best.
I liked to watch all of his acts on HBO Comedy because they were uncensored, and you could get the whole joke.
His face appeared "pudgy" on several of his last shows. Kinda like he was using corticosteroids.
May he R.I.P.
