I'm a little surprised to hear about Bennigans closing down in Amarillo. It seem like every time I'm in town, I drive by and it seems pretty busy. I don't live in Amarillo anymore, so I don't know if the service had gone downhill in there or not.
I also heard that Bennigans is considering opening a smaller version of its restaurant in Borger. Has anyone else heard that?

The place went way downhill the last few years. Very inconsistent quality of service / food combined with a building that wasn't being updated to keep up with newer restaurants in town. We stopped going there a couple of years ago due to too many bad meals. I had some good times in the bar, though!

I tell you-- the only thing I'm slightly upset about is the Monte Cristo. I didn't order it much, but it warmed my heart to no that I could if I wanted to. The only other place I know to get a Monte Cristo in town is out at the airport's English Field House.

When Cheddar's opens, go there for a monte christo. They have really good ones in Lubbock.
