I haven't seen it yet. Hubby is wanting to see it though. I heard the same thing, that there are MAJOR holes in the plot.

okay.. we went and saw H.A.N.C.O.C.K. hubby liked it.. I think that I was biased against the movie..
summary.. John Hanthingy(Will Smith) has super powers. He stops evil/crime, but in his own way. (He ends up causing more damage than if he hadn't intervened.) Los Angeles residents don't want Hanthingy's "help" anymore and neither do the police/local government. One of his "good deeds" was to lift Ray's (Jason Bateman) car off of the track of an oncoming train, the bad thing is Hanthingy flipped Ray's car upside down onto other (occupied) cars. (not to mention the damage that the derailed train caused.) His action saves Ray's life and as way to show his appreciation, Ray tries to help Hanthingy overcome his image problem. (Luckily Ray is a PR man.) With Ray's help, Hanthingy becomes a friendlier "superhero." Hanthingy doesn't know much about himself or how he got his powers. The little that he does know was from 80 years ago, he doesn't age. From there the story line takes a drastic, unexpected turn.
Interesting soundtrack
For those that don't want spoilers.. that is the first half of the story.. the second half is told as a spoiler below.. so quit reading NOW!
Personally, I don't think that the two storylines meshed well together. I think on their own, each would have been fine. (I would have preferred to learn more about the second storyline.) Some questions were left unanswered.
spoiler alert.. Ray invites Hanthingy to dinner with his family. At once you notice some sort of tension between Mary (Charlize Theron) and Hanthingy. You find out that Mary and Hanthingy were both made with powers. They were "made" in pairs. All the other pairs that had similar powers are dead. Mary is Hanthingy's "pair" and when they get together, they act like kryptonite to each other and their powers weaken. They have to stay away from each other to be powerful, but apparently they are attracted to each other at the same time.
