LOS ANGELES -- Paris Hilton is "emotionally distraught and traumatized" over her 45-day jail sentence and isn't capable of testifying in a civil lawsuit against her, the socialite-reality TV star's psychiatrist said.
Dr. Charles Sophy has been seeing Hilton, 26, for the past eight months and has talked with her several times since her May 4 hearing for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case, according to court papers.
Sophy said Hilton needs time to recover from the shock of receiving jail time before testifying in a civil case brought against her by actress and diamond heiress Zeta Graff

PARIS Hilton has escaped hard time in the Arizona desert but her plans to avoid a Californian jail term may have gone up in a puff of smoke.
An offer from tough-talking Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio to house Hilton in his notorious "tent city" jail where she would be assigned to chain gangs has been turned down.
But just as the Los Angeles sheriff's office declined Sheriff Joe's offer, British media have splashed pictures of Hilton surreptitiously smoking cannabis.
England's Daily Mail reports that the 26-year-old heiress, who faces a 45-day jail term for driving while her licence was suspended, was photographed allegedly smoking a joint while backstage at last month's Coachella music festival.
Hilton attended the event with a group of pals weeks before her court hearing, but clearly wasn't concerned about keeping out of trouble ahead of the case.
Although she has appealed to California Governor Arnold Schwartzenegger for a pardon via an online petition, she is scheduled to be admitted to jail on June 5.
Hilton has also sought help from above - she attended a church service LA on May 13.
The online Free Paris Hilton petition has gathered more than 25,000 signatures - but unfortunately for the reality TV star, a rival campaign, Jail Paris Hilton, is twice as popular, with more than 60,000 supporters.
