Amarillo High - Tascosa...Amarillo's Hell Week as AHS and THS prepare for their annual battle. The win will be very important in this large 5A district. A large crowd at Dick Bivins will see the Sandies come out on top by a narrow margin.
Lubbock Coronado - Odessa...Battle of the Hosses...Coronado has too many. The Mustangs whip the Bronchos.
Palo Duro - Synder...Snyder ain't no push over but if PD doesn't win this one, it may be a couple of weeks before they see a W. The Dons in a close one.
Pampa - Big Spring...The Steers seem to have something a little extra this year. Pampa's long trip to BS will end with the L.
Canyon - Seminole...The Eagles can pick the number. Canyon lights up the scoreboard.
Perryton - Randall...Raiders and Rangers....sounds like a name for a movie and it won't be a chick flick. Both teams come out blazing and at the end....the Raiders are the ones left standing.
Dumas - Hereford...Whitefaces do the ding dong daddies...
Borger - Bushland...Bushland finally gets a home game. Borger gets the loss.
Dalhart - Childress...Miles and miles of nothin' but miles...over 400 mile round trip for the Wolves....and not much to celebrate. The Bobcats are just too tough at home. Childress wins.
Lubbock Cooper - Muleshoe...The Mules will be the second 2A team to beat the Cooper Pirates.
Spearman - Stratford...Stratford's Homecoming....you know who you try to schedule at homecoming....Stratford did and they will...as bad as Eddie wants.
Canadian - Woodward, OK...Oklahoma teams have no business challenging Texas teams. Canadian will show them the reason why.
Vega - Sunray...I hear this thumping sound coming out of Sunray. I look for Vega to be the recipient of that thumping.
Naz - New Deal...Swifts go into the Lions' den....not good. Naz will battle but New Deal keeps the W.

I got to see Canadian play Abernathy. The Canadian receivers are as good as they get in 1A-2A football. They made several highlight reel catches. They also know what to do with the ball once they catch it. It will take a very good 1A team to defeat Canadian.

hey, I've got an officiating question for someone out there that knows more about it than I do..I'm not quite sure the UIL ruling on this particular situation..okay, team A has the ball at team B 8 yard line. 3rd down and 5 yards to go. Pass interference is called against team B IN the endzone. The penalty is accepted by team A. Where is the football placed after enforcing the penalty? What down is it now?

Rick would know that answer. My guess would be half the distance to the goal line and first down.

sj, that would have been my guess also...officials placed the ball on the 2 yard line, first down
