Does anybody use Quick Quack car wash? We went to the one on Georgia the other day and told the guy we wanted the $12.98 special. He took DHs credit card and said "Okay, but it's really $15.98."
Huh? I asked him why all the signs and all the ads say $12.98. He said "that's only if you want the special that renews every month." Well, yes, that's what we were asking for so we told him that. He took DH's card again and said, "okay, but they still charge you $15.98 a month."
At that point DH said "no thanks" and took back his card and we drove off.
Anybody know what the deal is with these people? Why would they advertise a $12.98 special and then say it's really $15.98? Since he said it more than once and he didn't seem to be brand new to the job, I have to assume he knows they do charge the $15.98.

Um, well, the sign in front does say "with auto-renewal."

I either go to the spot-free Champion spray car wash on 45th...and do it myself...
or
I will admit to going to Darth Mitchell's full-service Toot-N-Totum car wash west of 34th and Coulter.
Both places are cheaper to wash/vacuum my SUV...which still gets better gas mileage than a pickup.

I've noticed the same thing with my wife's car. Mine stays at $12.95, although the clerk said it had "expired", then it reappeared and has been back on schedule. I'll have to look into the $15.95 deal because it has appeared on my bank statement one month after I manually bought the one month pass with the credit card, then it shows up one month later automatically ... where did that come from?

SJ....at least you're in farming...and can justify a big pickup to haul stuff.
And a lot of the big 4x4 4-door pickups being run up and down the streets...with nothing ever hauled in the back...weigh almost as much as a Ford Excursion...the largest SUV ever made.
They try to pin gas wasting on SUV owners...when city guys who don't need a pickup...waste just as much or more gas...by driving the biggest pickup they can buy.
That's not even mentioning city boy pickup drivers who are also hauling around 200 lbs of extra weight of an empty toolbox and side running boards and a big heavy grill guard...none of which most of them need.
But it's also bad that a LOT of people are into the My SUV Is Bigger Than Your SUV thing.
But most of the pickups driving around...weigh more than my SUV.

A man should choose the type of the three things most dear to him. Cherish and defend them.....his woman, his whiskey and his wheels...you wanna a SUV or truck....go for it...your the one who has pay the gas and insurance...... ;D

On the wheels part, I drive an '08 Sliverado Extended cab with the "Texas Edition", but my heart belongs to the vehicle with 2 wheels. My Harley. And, my cat Sam. Along the lines of the original thread, do they have xpress car washes up there?

Along the lines of the original thread, do they have xpress car washes up there? Yes....if you mean those drive-thru car-washes behind convenience store gas stations.
