Recently when I use Goggle or Yahoo search engines the link I want to search will not come up. The search will jump to another site such as ebay or another search engine. This has not always been the case. Someone have an explanation for this and how to correct it.

No, but does quite often. I was searching for avatars early this morning and when I clicked on a link my search jumped to e-bay. Another try and it jumped to another search engine. Also, when it does this I can't go back other than to leave explorer and start over. I have run my program for spyware etc. and it shows I am clean. I am suspecting that the problem may be in one of the host files.

Sounds like a browser search hi-jacking is taking place. I had that once...and I ran 2 anti-spyware scanners...and one of them found...and cleared up the problem. I ran Ad-Aware and Spybot. www.lavasoft.de for Ad-Aware and www.spybot.info/en/index.html for Spybot. For both...I am running the free version...and they've cleared up...or prevented...many problems.

I went to fire fox. No problem there. It must be my Explorer...got hijacked like you said.

I quit using explorer because it has too many security problems, and like you, my searches were hijacked.
I have had FoxFire for a couple years now and have had no problem with it.
There are some sites that will not open with FoxFire, so on those instances, I am forced to use explorer, but get off of it ASAP.

I just run the two programs. They cleaned out three tracking cookies. I still have the browser problem I had to run the Immunize function in Spybot...and I think that is what cleared up my hi-jack problem. But...that was a year ago...and I'm sure they have new methods. Still...the immunize function on Spybot...will stop many things cold...by blocking a web address...so your browser won't go there.

We use spybot too. I had problems all the time with IE. I have been using Firefox for a couple of years now and never have that problem.
