Tonight went to new restaurant serving Mideastern and Greek food. Its across the street from the American Quarterhorse Association on Nelson St. at I40. Its an old Kentucky Fried Chicken that has been attractively remodeled.Food was very good and reasonably priced. For three of us including appetizers it was about $40. Most of the entrees are less than $8. They have a Mon - Fri all you can eat lunch buffet for $6.95.
I'm always glad to see something besides the same old steak, hamburgers, barbecue and Mexican food. I hope this place survives and thrives.

I love greek salads with feta cheese and calamari olives. Fresh pita bread. It might be worth going to that side of town.

If they keep the AQHA employeees happy at lunch...they should do fine.
With a business of 250 to 300 employees right across the street...
It would pay to give an AQHA employee discount.

We went here last night, and it was great: a very unique experience. We'd already eaten, but I wanted to drive by to check out the scene and get a menu. When I went in, I saw that they had hookahs at the tables, and beer on the menu. We were looking to kill some time, so I talked the wife into coming in for a beer. As it turned out, they didn't have their liquor license yet, so we went across the street and got a 6 pack to bring back in.
We decided that we wanted to smoke from a hookah. So we ordered one up, and they told us that the front dining room was nonsmoking, so they led us back to a "secret" dining room behind the kitchen. There we smoked some apricot tobacco, drank some beers, and ordered some falafel and a veal stew. It was a neat experience.
The owners were really nice. One admitted that perhaps they opened at the wrong time of year being that they opened right around Christmas, so they haven't been busy. So I'm trying to spread the word that its good, because I'd like to see this place do well.

I seldom go that far east...unless I'm headed out of town...to Lakeside and the Fritch highway.
So I haven't thought to look over there and see what changes they made to the old KFC building.
