How's it doing? Do y'all like the new stores? Is Westgate Mall dead because of it?

Not trying to sound like Negative Nancy here but......Burlington Coat Factory is not a good store. Petco is over priced and I do not think they have anything else there except for a toenail place I think?

Yep...they put up a building of nothing but small spaces...that face Western...
And there are only like 2 of them occupied now...and one is a nails place.
They are like the little stores that have sprung up around the Coulter and Tascosa Walmarts.
I think a lot of those nail places are owned by Asians.

Hey, the new Hoagie's Deli is great. Prices are a little too high for a sandwich joint but they have free wireless Internet! I think it's theirs anyway. All I know is that someone around there has Internet and you can pick it up at Hoagies.

I haven't been in Hoagie's yet.
Subway went up on their prices a lot over the last 2 or 3 years...
But I think they have now come down a bit...or started having more discount sales.

We went to Burlington Coat Factory once or twice and left without purchasing anything, nor do we plan to return.
It looks to me like the mall doesn't need to worry about Western Crossing. Every time I have been there, which is about 3 times since the first of the year, it has been very busy for the supposedly worst enconomy in 50 years.
Subway has been aggressively promoting their $5 dollar foot long sandwich.
McDonalds is test marketing their new burger made exclusively of lips and tongues. They are calling the new offering the McJagger.

Subway has had come down on their prices...
I used to go to Subway all the time to get a foot-long turkey on cheese sub.
But when the price went over $6+...I walked on Subway after more than 10 years of my business.
I could make the same sandwich at home...on whole-wheat bread...for 1/3 of the cost or less.

Burlington Coat Factory is a mess. Looks and feels like the 1970'2 style Kmart that used to be on Georgia. They only part of it worth looking at is baby cloths and I am beyond that now.
WT I hear you on Subway. I am making sandwhiches at home now and taking them to work. Not worth 7 bucks for a sandwhich, chips, and drink.

Burlington Coat Factory is like a Hastings version of Stein Mart.
It's like comparing Hastings as a bookstore to Barnes & Noble.
About 2/3rds of the way there...but they just can't quite get it completely right.
I bring Hastings into this...because they sell some used books...and Barnes & Noble only sells new books.
And Stein Mart only sells new merchandise...but I noticed back in January...that Burlington had reconditioned stickers on all the coffee maker boxes over in the right front corner.
Maybe Burlington has better stores in larger towns...and Amarillo may be the dumping spot for stuff that hasn't sold in other stores.
