No information at all on this guy...except his name...and that he is retired. Talk about some very lame reporting by the Amarillo Globe News. Must have taken this lady with 2 last names...every bit of 5 minutes to write this article. Wonder if she even bothered to call the guy...and at least get some basic information about him.... Retired Amarilloan Jim Brokenbeck filed paperwork today to seek election as mayor of the city of Amarillo.
Brokenbeck’s candidacy sets up a three-way mayoral race with incumbent Mayor Debra McCartt and Daniel Blue Whisenhunt in the May 9 municipal election.
Incumbent Commissioners Madison Scott, Brian Eades, Ron Boyd and Jim Simms remain unopposed in their re-election bids.
Candidates can file to run for the commission and mayoral offices through March 9.
Applications are available at in Room 303 at Amarillo City Hall, 509 S.E. Seventh Ave. City Hall is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.www.amarillo.com/stories/022609/022609_447264/190564_medium.jpg
